His chest hurt and his eyes burned.
“What if I fought so hard to get my body back and it still isn’t enough?”
His voice cracked completely.
“What if you gave up so much for this and one day my body just… can’t take it anymore? What if I end up like Mum?”
Alphonse Elric got his body back. That’s supposed to be the happy ending. Except nobody talks about the recovery afterwards. Nobody talks about the years of starvation, the chronic pain, the exhaustion or the nightmares that still drag him back into a hollow suit of armour where he can’t breathe, can’t feel and can’t prove he’s even real.
When one particularly brutal nightmare sends him spiralling back toward an old coping mechanism he’d fought hard to quit and Alphonse finds himself sitting on the hill where his childhood home once stood, trying desperately to convince himself that he’s alive.
TLDR: Alphonse has a nightmare about the armour, Barry’s words, about his mother, about everything that he tried so hard to push away. And Edward learns that getting Al’s body back didn’t magically make everything okay.

Jason Todd didn’t plan on getting caught that night.
Getting beaten half to death in a Gotham alley with what he is pretty sure is a fever coming for him? Sure. That part was practically routine by now. But he’d calculated the odds. He knew how many men he could take and he let himself get smacked around for a bit.
Made him feel alive.
What he hadn’t accounted for was Nightwing.
Dick Grayson arrives just in time to stop the fight and just in time to see Red Hood’s mask crack open and reveal a face that should be six feet underground.
The problem with coming back from the dead isn’t the dying part.
It’s everyone else.
Because Dick buried Jason. Mourned him. Lost him.
And Jason clawed his way out of his coffin alone.
Now standing face to face in the rain soaked wreckage of Crime Alley of all places, neither of them knows what to do with the ghost between them.

Summary
Jason Todd thought he’d left the worst of his life buried in the dirt alongside the boy who wore Robin’s colors. Gotham was cruel, but at least it was the present. At least he had control.
Until a new villain: a sadist who thrives on memory and pain. Drags him back. Not just into his past, but right after he died. Back into the skin of a too young Robin who should be dead at this point in time, back under Bruce Wayne’s watchful eye, back into every wound he thought he’d already survived.
Now Jason has to navigate a Gotham that doesn’t know what’s coming, a family that doesn’t know he’s already broken, and the crushing weight of reliving the years that made him who he is.
He’s been Red Hood, he’s been a corpse, he’s been a good soldier.
But can he survive being Robin again?
