“Oh man,” Canada held on tight to Kumabadgey for comfort and titled his head back. He then blinked rapidly in a fruitless effort to rid himself of the pain. “Why do my eyelashes have to be this way?”
Being cursed with long eyelashes, Canada was no stranger to this song and dance, but it didn’t mean he liked this feeling any less. Weren’t eyelashes supposed to protect your eyes from other small things that could get in your eye? Some protector of the eye they were.
____________Or, in which Canada gets a few eyelashes stuck in his eye and his family decides to help.

Summary
It was tedious work, watching this little pixelated blob that seemed to be constantly hungry or crying or getting sick but each action he correctly performed was rewarded with a cute sound effect, a happy Tamagotchi, and it gave him a sense of accomplishment he hadn't felt in a long time.
It's the mid 2000s and Kakashi is tasked with running the Before and After School Care program at Leaf Primary School. Along the way he inadvertently starts the Tamagotchi craze and learns to appreciate the little things in life.

Kakashi is given team 7 because: Someone needs to watch over the Jinchuriki and protect the Uchiha bloodline; Sakura was just supposed to round out the numbers.
Of course the Hogake and council underestimated the fundamental breaks in Kakashi's psyche. His guilt complex ran rampant seeing what amounted to the reincarnation of his old team with some added features. He was going to turn his babysitting job into a crash course into becoming the best ninja he could produce, nothing was going to hurt his adorable little puppies.

Sakura skidded to a halt. “Sensei?” she choked out, voice raw and painful.
Kakashi made no reply. His eyes stared desperately up at her, as if he thought that she was going to disappear if he looked away. One of his hands reached out slowly, like he wanted to touch her face, to check to see did she was really there. His eyes were glazed over and his chest was heaving from the force of his heavy breaths. She stood there frozen, unsure of what to say or do.
How could things have gone so wrong?

A simple mission goes horribly wrong and Team-7 find themselves stuck in the wilderness injured and facing demons from Kakashi’s past. It escalates from there, leaving them mixed up in a plot to drag Konoha into war and tear a fragile peace in two.
