Summary
“You left your scarf in my room,” Seonghwa says like that explains his sudden appearance at Hongjoong’s studio. He could’ve kept it until Hongjoong came around again or sent him a message. He could’ve shown up at Hongjoong’s studio without a reason, too, because Hongjoong has almost never told him no. It’s also easier to admit that than it is to say what really spurred on this surprise visit, but he forces himself to do it anyway: “And I could barely breathe when I woke up this morning.” It’s Seonghwa’s way of saying I was on my way to having a bad day and I was afraid of being alone.
“Ah.” Hongjoong wraps his arms around Seonghwa’s waist again and leans into him. He waits until Seonghwa meets his gaze before speaking. “Then in that case, I’m glad you came.”

When his friends had decided they wanted to spend Christmas in a cosy mountain cabin, Hongjoong had initially been onboard. But then he realised they meant everyone.
Who did everyone include, one might ask? Well, Wooyoung wanted to spend Christmas with his friends as well as his new boyfriend, Yunho. But Yunho, understandably, also wanted to spend Christmas with his friends as well as Wooyoung. Hence, the only logical solution was for them to jam their two friend groups together and cram eight people into one mountain cabin.
Thankfully, it seemed as though someone on Yunho’s side was a responsible planner, because the cabin did look big enough for eight people. They’d probably have to share some rooms, but that wasn’t unusual for them.
So what was the problem? The problem was that Hongjoong had met Yunho’s friends. Wooyoung had insisted on his group of friends spending time with Yunho’s group of friends with the end goal of them all becoming one coherent group.
Which was mostly fine. Hongjoong liked most of Yunho’s friends. With the exception of the owner of the only other car in front of the cabin.

Yunho shrugged. “Unstable,” he said plainly, as if it was a fact, not a confession. “Mentally and financially.”
“Strange, and I thought you’d be richer…” Mingi murmured, one corner of his mouth tugging upward, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “Now that you don’t have to pay for my midnight cravings and dumb stuff I want for no reason,” Gesturing towards the cigarette pack tucked in Yunho’s hand, he glanced up. “And no one’s stealing your cigs anymore.”
The alpha chuckled under his breath. “Yeah, I was supposed to save more,” he glanced at the cigarette between his fingers, twirling it thoughtfully. “But I ended up smoking more instead.” he flicked ash down onto the pavement, and the wind caught it. “Turns out, losing you is expensive.”
