Summary
Robin Buckley hates Nancy Wheeler. She hates her for what she did to Steve Harrington, for the way one thing detonated his life and left him hollowed out.
Nancy Wheeler, on the other hand, doesn’t hate Robin, she just doesn’t think she deserves anything better than the slow punishment she’s been giving herself ever since.
Forced into each other’s orbit through school work, and Steve himself, Robin and Nancy navigate a battlefield of sharp words, buried guilt, and unresolved pain. What starts as mutual resentment slowly fractures into something softer, more dangerous, understanding.

Nancy has this thing with the weather.
She’ll wake up naturally with the rise of the sun by the internal clock, or the damn wolfy-senses as Max likes to begrudgingly call it. Whether or not she got a good night’s rest the night before is besides the point. The habit only calls for a single peek between the blinds, doesn't require more than a squint behind bleary eyes to know what kind of day to expect.
It's become a sort of game for her. Every morning she makes a bet with herself. She tunes in to the local news and weather as she gets ready for the day, waits for weatherman Frank to confirm her guess.
And today is no different.

Robin. They had something, everything, together before Nancy left. But out of fear, Nancy broke things off with the girl. However, Nancy never stopped missing Robin and she spent every day for the past four years thinking about her.
Will her return home be enough to bring them back together or has the romantic bond between them sailed off forever.

Despite having grown up adjacent to this underground world, Nancy only realizes how little she really knows about the monsters her father has dedicated his life to eradicating when she becomes one herself. Vampirism is a curse, a punishment, an eternal penance for every sin Nancy feels she has committed. That is what she tells herself to get by. Surely the tall, freckled girl from her home town, who trips over her own shoelaces, wouldn't be the one to meticulously pick the lock to Nancy's steel-caged heart.
This is a self-indulgent story about queerness, self-forgiveness, found family, and most importantly, fun (and maybe sexy) monster stuff. Queer love is healing, people!!
