The (Granger) Malfoys were on top of the world, seated on a throne so high above the rest they could barely be seen. Their power was absolute. And with that came scrutiny, hate and jealousy from those who wanted nothing more than to see them in a position so unlike the one they currently occupied.They both had their own, yet similar, ways of dealing with it.
