But who should he send a message to? Hat Guy? He had already sent him a letter yesterday though. The wind was supposed to take his message anywhere… Could it, could it reach his mom? Would she be able to hear the words he whispered to these seeds? It was worth a shot, even if he may never know whether or not the message gets received.

“Hat Guy, are you really okay?”
He was fine. Okay, he was not. But he should be. Especially when those puppy dog eyes would start tearing up if he told the truth, so he hid it for as long as he could.
Eventually, Durin would know that he had been lied to.
Still, just as always, the dragon stayed by his friend’s side. He remained with him when the ‘poison’ from Dottore’s projectile caused Hat Guy’s core to work overtime in flushing it out, resulting in a feverish-like state.
“You’re going to be okay…” Durin whispered to the puppet and to himself as he continued the soothing motion of running his fingers through the other’s hair.

It was through witnessing the three acts of Hat Guy's life and talking with the main characters of each chapter did he realize that perhaps a dragon and a puppet are not so different after all.
