The only few sips of her drink that she had were already pooling in her belly. It was the same way they always had, but it was making her feel odd. Velvette set her drink down, not bothering to protest when Carmilla moved it to sit beside her. She ran her fingers through her curls.
“Everything okay, *mi vida?*” she asked tenderly, pressing a kiss to her temple. “ You’re quieter than usual.”
“I don’t know,” Velvette said. She watched her fingers as she played with them between her spread legs. The older demon reached up to thumb one of her costume’s ears.
The reaction was immediate. Velvette went rigid. Her fingers stilled on the floor as a little surprised sound emitted from her throat. She pushed her hand away, trying her best to maintain her composure. Carmilla eyed her suspiciously.
