“Can we walk Halloween?” A-Yuan’s eyes grew impossibly larger, his little fists bunching around the fabric of the shirt he was holding onto. The man the shirt belonged to (presumably), nodded a few times in quick succession.
“Pwease?” It should be ridiculous hearing this man talking in a cutesy kinda way, Lan Zhan knew it should sound ridiculous, but all he could do was melt.

Summary
Frozen in place, Bakugou heard the blood rushing in his ears. Dessert? Wha- yeah, he didn't have any on his menu, because he ... well, let's just say, he didn't suck at them but didn't excel at them either. And there wouldn't be anything in his menu that wasn't perfect.
The next few days, Bakugou spent most of his free time to search the internet for any more comments on his lack of desserts and low and behold, did people have an opinion on this matter. Anything PR related went through his manager, so he could fully concentrate on cooking and changing items on the menu if needed. But now that he knew not everything was passed on, maybe heads will come rolling.
He was furious.
Not only was his reputation on the line, but not being fully in control over his own fucking business cut deep into his ego. Changes had to be made.

Summary
After taking in A-Yuan as his adoptive son, it was both a blessing and a curse, as in Wei Ying thrived in the irregular sleep patterns of a toddler, the sudden changes in moods and whims (to be fair, A-Yuan had very little of those but he was a toddler nonetheless), but having regular nap times on the other hand helped both of them. And were kind of mandatory in the process of the adoption because what else did an adoption agency of the government cherish? Right, normalcy, routine, a schedule. But for A-Yuan, Wei Ying endured it effortlessly.
Until his 30th birthday. The day everything changed. (For the better, but that was only known to future-Wei Ying; present-Wei Ying was very much in a panic.)
When he bumped into a person, trying to rush through the gate, Wei Ying’s inner voice changed into some baritone voice he had never heard before and his “thoughts” were suddenly very interested in getting to this quarterly meeting on time. Which meeting? Did he forget something? Could be, to be honest.

He was just about to raise his hand to signal the waitress over, when she was already materializing next to him. Seriously, how did she do that?
"Gongzi," she inclined her head as she put down a glass of wine. Wei Ying blinked, looking up to her and then back to the glass.
"I'm sorry," he chuckled, "but I didn't-"
There was a hidden spark in her eyes when she discreetly pointed toward the counter behind her. "A courtesy from the gentleman at the bar."
Wei Ying leaned back to look around the waitress and in the general direction she pointed at, because subtlety wasn't on his resume, where he made eye contact with the possibly most gorgeous man on earth. Another wave of heat bubbled up in his chest, making his cheeks warm up but not even comparable in the slightest with earlier.

It really is a test of patience and self restraint, which wwx does not possess, to fight through his internship while simultaneously handle feelings (family) and feelings (boss).

"And most importantly, radish," Wei Ying pointed at A-Yuan's nose close enough that A-Yuan's eyes went slightly crisscross, "if you feel like it's too much or you don't want to do this anymore, it is totally fine to just come back, okay?" He smiled reassuringly, tapping the small nose.
"Mhm!" A-Yuan nodded again, his head tipping forward so far to be almost considered a bow.
"Great!" Wei Ying clapped his hands together. They checked one last time if A-Yuan had everything he needed, knew the items he should get and what to do in an emergency.
Stepping out the door, Wei Ying felt like this was how a parent ought to feel. Letting go of their child slowly, letting them make their own experiences and growing independent.
He was not ready for that yet.

A-Yuan is tasked with his very first errand on his own but Wei Ying can't let go, so he follows his son and watches how he got his father a husband, as a treat.

He would not push his company on Wei Ying, as it was unwanted. They could pretend, for this one dinner, to be perfectly normal adults with no sexual history, and that would be that.

Very few jobs give you the perfect storm of moral high ground, manic energy, and being a huge dick to people on the regular that Wei Wuxian finds so satisfying about trauma surgery.
