"My, you have been busy," Scott said, and Legundo did not look at Scott's eyes— shut them in fact, when Scott grabbed his chin and forced his face forward. He could smell that cold breath now, like a funeral parlor, and pulled away with a grimace, hand moving to his belt—
Scott snatched that up as well, and with a twist and a surge of inhuman strength, pressed Legundo flat to the table. His breath left him in a rush, and Scott laughed.
Scott was shorter than Legundo, and much lighter as well. The only thing keeping him planted on the ground was his own body weight, and Legundo had the advantage of leverage.
He still had a hand free. Legundo grabbed on to the collar of Scott's elegant coat, and put a knee into the vampire's stomach. He had the satisfaction of seeing surprise in Scott's eyes— before he was handily thrown clean off of Legundo, and over the far side of the table.
He would not get the element of surprise again.
(Or; Legundo gets bit by EVERY Vampire at some point or another, for varying reasons.)

“Today we’re learning how to read and write.” He announced, drawing the book closer between them. Kitty tilted her head at once, curiosity blooming across her face. Her gaze darted from the ink to the page to his face, as though the letters themselves might leap up and introduce their secrets.
There was a saying, wasn’t there? Curiosity killed the cat. Owain almost smiled at the thought.
In her case, curiosity would not be her end. It would be her making. It was the brightest thing about her. The hunger to understand, to explore, to ask why even when the world offered no easy answers. He only hoped she would one day learn caution to balance it.

Owain teaches Kitty to read and write, and keeps getting lost in his feelings in the process.

He could feel the warm, coppery presence of blood against the back of his mouth.
Biting down on the cough that threatened to rip out of his throat, Owain strayed to the window of his room, armor shifting with a clattering din that stung at his ears.
He needed his visor off, /now/. But not here, not where anyone from the Blue Kingdom could stray in and see Owain without his helmet.
He needed to find somewhere safe, secluded, to attempt to bleed out on the dusty forest floor and speak with The Lady Of The Fountain.
Surely, she’d help him. There wasn’t anyone else who could.

Or, Owain escapes to a peaceful grove in the alpine expanse of No-Man’s Land, hoping that his failing wards will be restored by the only goddess he answers to.
Unfortunately for him, he can’t reach Her- and instead finds the little cat he’d been hoping to avoid.
