OR—Galadriel goes to stop the Dark Lord Sauron from enacting his plan to create the One Ring. Summary

In the timeless realm beyond the confines of Middle-earth, where the Valar dwelt in splendor, Sauron found himself in a state of disorienting transition. His spirit, unmoored from the physical world, floated in a liminal space between existence and non-existence, aware of his surroundings yet unable to fully grasp their nature. It was a strange sensation, akin to being adrift in a sea of whispers and shadows.

Suddenly, a commanding voice cut through the ethereal fog that enveloped him. "Sauron," it called.

Sauron, recognizing the voice immediately, focused his attention. "Ulmo," he acknowledged, his tone neither deferential nor hostile.

"You are to return to Middle-earth," Ulmo declared, his words carrying a weight that seemed to reverberate through Sauron's very being.

Sauron felt a surge of both curiosity and apprehension. Why was he being sent back? What purpose awaited him in the world he had once sought to conquer?

    Summary

He was silent for a moment. She heard his cloak rustle, the sound of his hand grasp one of the bars. The gentle tap of his rings against the metal filled her ears, and she shut her eyes.

“When you denied an alliance with me, I found other means of quenching my thirst.”

“For violence and depravity?” she shot back.

“For vengeance,” he hissed. “Just as you sought yours. Keep your righteousness to yourself. I care not for it. These Men, these Númenóreans, fought against me in the Great War. Slew countless lives. With their pride and their arrogance in their mighty goodness. They thought they were better than the rest of us as you yourself believed you were better than me.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “I wanted to see them suffer. I have achieved so much more than that.”

During Ar-Pharazôn’s rule of Númenor when Sauron holds the position of the High Priest of Melkor, Galadriel is captured in the middle of a war, imprisoned, and handed over to him as a sacrifice to be made in the Temple of the High Priest, but Sauron has other plans. From Akallabêth to the founding of Gondor, unlikely allies are forged.

    Summary

After the devastating Battle of Gwathlo, the Elves finally subdued Sauron, using the very Rings of Power he sought to control. Delivered to Valinor for judgment, the Valar condemned him to an eternity in the Halls of Mandos, guarded by Mithrandir, a powerful wizard tasked with ensuring the Dark Lord never rises again. But mere weeks later, the unthinkable happens—Middle-earth begins to wither, its lands dying and its people fading.

Desperate and out of options, the Alliance of Elves and Men must face an unholy truth: the only hope for saving their world lies in releasing the very evil they fought so hard to imprison. Galadriel, however, refuses to believe their salvation lies in Sauron’s hands—and she’ll do anything to stop it.

    Summary

Halbrand knew that he would need to accommodate Galadriel in his plans, to arrange matters so that she would come to trust him and care for him more than she already did before she finally, inevitably, found out the truth. And then only from Halbrand himself, in the manner he thought she would take the best, when he felt she was ready to hear it.

Or: Halbrand shows more care in his planning, and Galadriel shows more consideration in her response.
