Katsuki, though. Katsuki expressed his affection much differently, ever since they'd become closer through their Remedial Training from what felt like a lifetime ago. Katsuki, out of everyone Shouto knew, preferred action more than anything else. He preferred to be express his affection in a way that was tangible—in a way that made sense to everyone around him, and Shouto appreciated that the most.
Katsuki's words were layered with extreme amounts of double meaning—mostly because he didn't want to acknowledge he had feelings—but his actions held true. And Shouto kept noticing him more and more these days, and didn't know how to untangle the warmth coiling in his stomach whenever Katsuki was near. He knew what it was, of course—he just never expected them to consume him so utterly.

Only Ochako had noticed Himiko, at first. She'd first met Himiko a few months ago, when she was fresh into high school and with endless curiosity in her eyes. Something had drawn her towards Himiko, and she hadn't been able to help herself from taking her under her wing.
The problem was, only Ochako was allowed to look at Himiko. Ochako was the one who looked at her first—she should be the only one allowed to look at her with open affection, to make Himiko blush as she was given a compliment, to look at her with desire in her eyes.
The problem was, people were beginning to notice her girlfriend, and she didn't like it at all.

He felt the sunlight hit his body through the blinds that Azirphale stubbornly refused to close—Her natural lighting, Crowley, Aziraphale had always insisted—and felt himself wake up, bit by bit, hissing in annoyance as he did, preferring to sleep in his snake form whenever he could. He curled himself even tighter around Aziraphale, a bit miffed that Aziraphale hadn't even opened his eyes because of the movement, though a little gratified all the same.

"Kacchan," Deku said again, his green eyes shining with tears, so open and trusting even after all Katsuki had done to push him away. Katsuki couldn't make it in himself to look away from Izuku as the tears poured freely down his face, wanting something, anything, to help him, his grip on Deku's arm slackening. Deku was instantly on him, no sense of personal space in sight as he took Katsuki's face in his hands, Katsuki too tired and raw to do anything except bat the nerd's hands halfheartedly away, listening to him mumbling up a storm the entire time.
Katsuki didn't know where he ended, and his feelings for Deku began.

When Katsuki was little, he remembered listening to Izuku explaining the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. It was one of the days when Katsuki had decided he didn't want to deal with any other people, but he had still let Izuku tag along. He still remembered how Izuku had made daisy chains while explaining the story, clearly not understanding the point of the story in the first place, but unwilling to not impart any new knowledge he had gathered.
"But it's so stupid," Katsuki had said, with all the brevity of a six year old. "Why would he want to look back?"
Izuku had shrugged, and settled the daisy chain on his head. Katsuki had allowed it, just this once. The look on Izuku's face when he had been allowed—surprise, delight, and fondness—had made him look away with a small "tch."At six, that was as close as he had come to understanding why.
(Ten years later, he understood it much more.)
The Ground Beta fight goes a bit differently. Katsuki grapples with his feelings as a result.
