“Hey uh, why—why’d you pick me to invite? To the concert, I mean.”
It had been bothering him since that morning, Buck putting his phone down to peer over to him.
“Why wouldn’t I invite you Eds? You’re my best friend.”
“I know, I just meant—I mean you could take anyone. Like—like a date or something.”
“Well, I’m not dating anyone, and even if I was, I wouldn’t have invited them.”
Curious, Eddie couldn’t help but to question him further.
“Not even if, well what about if you were still with—Taylor?” The name sounded bitter on his lips, Eddie grateful he hadn’t had to say it in some time now.
Buck looked to him incredulously. “Why would I invite her to a concert?”
Eddie was confused as ever, inquiring further. “Why not?”
“Uh I don’t, well I mean—you were the first person I thought about. Guess I didn’t really have a backup plan.”
