Grian’s stomach should turn, he should back away, his throat should sting with acidity, but all he feels is jealously down to his core. Why did Etho get to feed his bloodthirst, fill himself with the flesh of Grian’s kill? Who was Etho to consume what did not belong to him?

Etho tilts his head curiously, and Grian thinks wildly, this is what the rabbit sees in the fox. Then Grian watches as he pulls down his mask to reveal his lips and cheek stained dark velvet, deep red streaks like slashes of gore—god, he must have ripped into the body once he dragged it away. He must have been ravenous, he must have needed it so badly he cut through bone with his teeth, and Grian has to stop thinking about it now before he tears into Etho himself.
