Me retrouver dans un parking avec un gobelin ivre mort sur les bras était loin de ce que j’avais initialement prévu en débarquant aux États-Unis pour rechercher ma mère.
J’aime très certainement la nuit. Qu’il soit minuit passé n’était donc pas un problème, surtout si l’on prenait en compte ce foutu décalage horaire qui avait complètement détraqué ma perception du temps. En revanche, j’apprécie moins les gobelins, même si ceux que je connais n’ont pas grand-chose à voir avec les horribles créatures du Seigneur des Anneaux – hormis peut-être une éventuelle tendance au cannibalisme.
Avant cet incident en tout cas, je pensais avoir laissé créatures de l’ombre, errances et beuveries d’adolescents loin derrière moi, c’est-à-dire plusieurs dizaines d’années auparavant.
Je savais que les États-Unis me dépayseraient, mais pas au point de me faire oublier mes bonnes résolutions. Et pourtant, c’était bien moi qui m’étais retrouvée dans un bar, fae qui plus est, à faire des tours de passe-passe pour amuser la galerie et sauver la peau d’un gobelin que je ne connaissais pas.

Summary
Forced to look after a family of four, Nesrin is not very pleased by the coming of a company of dwarves looking for revenge. Rightfully so, for the dwarves awaken the dragon that sleeps under the Lonely Mountain and unleash it upon Esgaroth. Nesrin, her father and sisters leave a burning city to never come back. The family must now face the winter alone, for neither the elves nor the dwarves seem willing to help the men in need. As Nesrin goes hunting in the lands of King Thranduil to feed her kin and save them from a certain death, she slaughters a white stag, a creature both sacred and reserved for the elven hunt. Despite all her efforts to hide her misdeed, Nesrin is not surprised when the sylvans approach her and ask her to make amends. She is then introduced to the kingdom of Mirkwood, amidst golden leaves and precious stones. To her surprise, her prison is a magnificent palace and her jailer is far from being a monster. Determined to defend the cause of mankind in front of the elves, Nesrin tries everything to convince Thranduil to send help to Dale.
But now that the dragon is gone, war is coming to the Lonely Mountain and the king will do everything to take back the gems that were once stolen from him.

Summary
After the Éothéod revolt against the Wainriders, the northern tribes seek to form strong alliances with their neighbors. Lord Frumgar tasks his son Fram to lead the delegation to Imladris. With him, he brings gold, fine horses, and two young thralls chosen by his father to be given to Lord Elrond himself. Elrond is conflicted to say the least.
Regardless, an alliance must be struck. Prince Fram brings news of darkness spreading across Rhovanion which is already leaking up into Greenwood. Elrond fears it will soon reach Imladris. Once more, Elves and Men must put aside their differences and unite...or fall.

Summary
Mercy and Adam are enjoying a romantic revival after Elizaveta's curse, while also trying to deal with the usual Tri-Cities politics, and with Lugh's newly-resurrected walking (now, talking) stick. The latter of which might seem like minor trouble, except no fae-made trouble is ever minor -- and Zee's slightly-too-high discomfort doesn't bode well for the matter.
Adding to the hassle, Kyle's sister comes to visit, bringing vocal concerns about Kyle's safety as a human mate to a werewolf. To help Kyle and Warren, Mercy resolves to show her the pack leads a regular life, and scary battles are an exception rather than the norm -- but when a deadly fae attacks Marsilia's seethe, and Stefan warns Mercy might be its next target, scary battles are exactly what's on the menu.
As the pack races to figure out who who the fae is, what it wants, and how to fight it, they find themselves embroiled in a strange mystery and facing an enemy who's outsmarted many older and more powerful opponents -- including some familiar figures from Mercy's past.
And the more she unravels the mystery, the scarier things look...
