"Jesus fucking Christ, MacTavish," Ghost snapped, his voice cutting through Soap like a bullet through bone, making mincemeat of his heart as it dropped clear to his feet. "Shut the fuck up."

In the wake of Hassan's death and stolen moments in Las Almas, Soap can't seem to quiet his mind—and Ghost won't let himself rest. Haunted by guilt and convinced he's the problem, Ghost starts doing what he does best: pushing people away before they can see the mess he really is.
If he's alone, maybe Soap will be safe.
But Johnny MacTavish has never been good at backing down.

“Aye sir, but ye’ll have to buy me dinner first.” Gaz groans and covers his eyes, edging closer to Price, no doubt to inform him about the impending murder of their demolitions expert. Soap pumps his eyebrows for added effect while simultaneously trying to catalogue the best escape routes from the vicinity.
Ghost though. Ghost stills, blinks once, twice, always so thoughtful and says “Just the one dinner, Johnny? Had no idea you were so easy.”

Summary
It should be easy. The mission’s meant to be easy, a quick in and out, as routine as a covert infiltration of a foreign territories’ secret research facility can possibly be. Which is, of course, why it goes wrong. Now, Ghost is dosed up with truth serum and he can't seem to stop confessing to anyone who'll listen that he's in love with Soap.

Summary
There’s a ghost haunting the 141 common room. At least, Soap is about 80% sure there is, which is, in fairness, realistically about as sure as anyone could reasonably be about spooks haunting their workplace. He’s not stupid, he knows no one else is going to believe him if he brings it up. The scorn if he suddenly starts harping on about ghosties and ghoulies.
None of that negates the fact that there definitely is one though. Probably.

Eddie didn’t lose Buck when Buck learned he had a kid. Eddie didn’t lose Buck when a ladder truck crushed Buck’s leg as the result of a serial bomber. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to a tsunami that almost took his son as well. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to Bobby’s inability to separate his personal feelings about Buck from Buck’s ability to work. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to Taylor Kelly. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to Lucy Donato. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to Natalia Dollenmeyer. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to a fucking lightning bolt even when Buck was technically dead for 3 minutes and 17 seconds. Eddie certainly didn’t lose Buck to Thomas Kinard when he and Tommy dated the first time.
So, no. Eddie was not going to lose Buck to Tommy now. Eddie didn’t even realize he was apparently in a competition? with Tommy. But if Tommy thought he was winning? Then it was up to Eddie to show Tommy just how wrong he was. Because Evan Buckley was his. And wasn’t that something that gave Eddie whiplash.

Ghost pauses as he watches the Class-D nodding. Then, “What’s your name?”
“Are all SCP subjects as proper and kind as ye are or did I get lucky?” The human chuckles to himself and adverts his eyes. “Name’s John. Yers?”
“ They call me Ghost. I’m also referred to as SCP-056, but I prefer Ghost.”
“SCP-056,” John echoes. “I’ve heard ‘bout ye. Why?”
Ghost cocks his head to the side, and tries to meet the human’s eyes, but John avoids him. “Why what?”
“Why’d they call ye Ghost?” At that, the Class-D does meet his eyes, but Ghost finds himself unable to return in such, so now he’s the one to look away.
“You’ll find out, eventually.”

Ghost, a SCP-056, finds a certain human worthy of his love, trust and adoration.

Summary
his eyes trained on Simon’s face.
The freckled skin, the wrinkles around his eyes and eyebrows, the expressiveness of his features. The scars and the small indents that when John really thought about it could look like the shape of that skull mask, but he wasn’t really sure. It was there, when Simon needed a short break on a bench, laughing at a comment John made, that it hit John. A warm feeling spreading in his chest like dye in water. He didn’t feel lonely.
Because Simon had filled that void with his jokes, his stories and warm timbre voice. Living in John’s mind even when he was at home watching TV or making dinner for one. It was a slow realisation, warm and sappy slithering through his veins and arteries. Smiling wider despite the conversation not really catering for it.

Price’s mouth falls open, and he stares at the necklace in Soap’s hand. After a few beats of silence, the Captain managed to pick his jaw up off the floor, and he sat up, leaning forward on his elbows on his desk.
“I’m not gonna tell you what he is, that’s his to share,” Price starts. “But I will tell you, first of all, it isn’t a proposal of some kind, don’t worry. You also don’t owe him your soul or something of the sort. I’ll also give you some advice. You protect that necklace with your life, don’t wear it unless you’re ready for Ghost to get ten times clingier than you ever thought possible, and once you get your head out of your arse like the Lieutenant apparently has, and you feel like making a move, give him something durable and shiny, preferably something pretty and/or metal.”
