"What can I get started for you?" the boy asks as Ash approaches. Ash sneaks a glance at his name tag—Eiji.
"A ... coffee?" Ash asks, suddenly realizing he's never actually been in a coffee shop before, or actually drank coffee.
But Eiji laughs, so maybe it's okay. "Just a black coffee for you? What size?"
"Large?"
"Sure thing. Can I get a name for this order?"
"Ash."
"And will that be for here or to go?" Eiji's dark eyes are shining, sparkling, beautiful.
"For here," Ash says confidently. He manages a smile, taking a breath. Despite the overwhelming smell of coffee, it feels like the first time the air's been clear in years. "Definitely for here."
While living with Dino, Ash runs away in the middle of the night, hoping for just a small moment of safety. Unsure of where to go, he lands at Perfect Day, a 24/7 coffee shop off the nearby university campus. The overnight barista, a student named Eiji, is enough to keep Ash coming back—consequences be damned.

“Hi, Tsukki!” Yamaguchi light voice rings, smile widening further into what Tsukishima can only describe as a full on beam.
Tsukishima doesn't respond, instead he raises his hand to play with the door latch in an embarrassingly obvious act of self-soothing. This always happens. And after the encounters, Tsukishima will inevitably lay in bed with headphones blasting music while convincing himself that the tidal wave of emotion Yamaguchi stirred up in him earlier in the day were not in fact tidal waves at all, but mere ripples. And that with proper mindful thinking and steady preparation he won't act any differently than he does with the other volleyball club members. He won't have to fixate on nearby objects in a desperate attempt to coax his body to not blabber out his unadulterated and mind-numbing affections for his best friend. No not at all, he'll do no such thing and keep his hands resting at his sides very normally, as very normal people do. Not people like him, with an unrequited love for their best friend.

"I'm broken," Kiyoomi says, his voice short and clipped. Atsumu's eyebrows shoot up. "I'm not like other people. I can't..."
He trails off again and he hates that he can't get the words out. He trusts Atsumu more than anyone and knows he would never hurt him, so why can't he say it?
Atsumu still looks both shocked and sad, but his voice is gentle. "What is it ya can't do, Omi?"
There's a long pause. Kiyoomi's voice is barely a whisper when he finally answers. "Come. I can't come."
Atsumu somehow looks even more surprised. "Ya mean... like, ever?"

“Why do you feel bad?” Wakatoshi’s hand settles against Satori’s thigh. Jesus. Fucking. Christ. “You have many friends, Satori. To you, our friendship is likely not as important. To me, you were the first person who wanted to know me, save for, perhaps, Sakusa. You made me feel …” He seems to struggle with his words for a moment, before he dips his head a little. Satori marvels at the clear sign of embarrassment. “You made me feel less weird. I never had many friends, and I still don’t. You were my first best friend.”
Suffice to say, Satori is speechless.

Leorio grabbed two more flutes of champagne and practically ran to his two friends. Throwing his long arms around both their shoulders he smiled ear-to-ear, “Gon, man is it good to see you!” He turned, ready for a grimace from Killua that would melt into a smile. No matter how cold that kid pretended to be, Leorio knew he had a soft spot for his friends. Instead when he turned, he saw green eyes and a placating smile. He threw his arm off the stranger immediately and hoped that no champagne spilled on her fancy dress. Shit. He really miscalculated, “I’m so sorry for the rudeness! I thought you were someone else.”

“We’re s’posed to be practicing touching, right Omi? Well now we’re touching,” he squeezes their hands on purpose this time, “what, are ya scared of me or sumthin?”The taunt works. Kiyoomi’s glare turns into a scoff and he relaxes into Atsumu.
“As if I could ever be scared of you. It’s your job as my setter to make me feel comfortable,” his eyes glint dangerously, “isn’t it, Atsumu?” He draws the syllables of the blond’s name out with a slight smirk.Atsumu thinks his entire body short circuits. He had opened his mouth to retort but nothing comes out. In all the years they’ve known each other Kiyoomi has never used his first name before. It sounds so much better than he’d expected.

With some annoyance, Tobio realized he was still thinking about Hinata Shouyou’s face. Was it really that nice of a face? He had only seen it for a moment, and Hinata hadn’t even been looking at him. He probably hadn’t noticed Tobio’s existence at all. Yet there was something about the brightness in his eyes; the slope of his nose and the way it curved slightly at the tip; the defiant curl of his hair; that Tobio couldn’t get out of his mind. He chewed angrily on his mouthful of rice, trying to think of anything else.
“You’d probably hate him, Kageyama,” Tsukishima said suddenly. “If you ever got to know him, you’d understand - he’s the exact type to get on your nerves.”
Tobio swallowed his rice effortfully, and wondered why Tsukishima had to be so right all the time.
