It’s quaint, in a nauseating sort of way. Polished floors glint from the gleaming honeycomb chandeliers overhead, make him squint. A few vases sprinkled here and there, filling the room with a sickeningly sweet scent – even a waffle-cone headrest framing the silken sheets of a neatly-tucked bed. Outside, the golden sun gleams, the gentle rays of light spilling past curtains that waver in the afternoon breeze.

Summary
Sukuna swallows, his jaw clenching. “You know I can't call it off.” Oh, how he wanted to so fucking badly. The obligation to marry someone he doesn’t even love weighs heavily on his shoulders, the crown was placed on him ever since he was born.
“I am to be the King one day.”
But when he does, he will reign over the heavens and the earth, and Gojo Satoru would be the one to rule alongside him.
The atmosphere goes cold, and the only thing keeping Sukuna from breaking is the sound of Satoru’s rhythmic heartbeat.
“I know.” Gojo leans over to tenderly kiss his forehead, “I wish you could just be with me.” He cradles his hand, kissing his palm. The golden band around his finger serves as a painful reminder that he is betrothed to someone else. Satoru slowly takes the piece of gold off of his finger, placing it on the nightstand next to the bed.

Summary

“Why don’t you want me?” Yuuji interrupts, voice small and at odds with how much larger than life he usually is. “Is it my family?” Yuuji continues, a tremble beginning in his voice. “Is it me? I know I’m not as smart as Kamo but…” he exhales, looking up at the ceiling, a single tear falling down the side of his face.
“I loved you. I love you. I’d be so good to you,” he hiccups, tears now spilling down his cheeks. He raises a hand to roughly wipe away his tears, over and over as new tears replace old ones until he gives up and holds his face in his hands.
A pinky promise made under the cover of night seals Yuuji and Megumi together from childhood to adulthood.

Megumi turned, and there he was again—grinning, towel slung around his neck, arms crossed over his broad chest like he hadn’t just spent an hour corralling chaos in the form of six-year-olds. “Kid’s got potential,” Sukuna added, then looked at Megumi. “You might have a pro on your hands one day.”
His throat went dry and Megumi did his best to muster up a smile. “Thanks. That means a lot coming from you.”
The older man shrugged one shoulder, casual. “So, you’ll be back for next practice?”
“We’ll be here,” Megumi said, a little too quickly. Tamaki was still glowing beside him, bouncing on the balls of his feet. “He loved it.”
“Good.” Sukuna’s gaze lingered for a second longer than necessary. “See you then.”
And just as he turned to walk away, Megumi noticed it. That pale strip of skin on Sukuna’s left ring finger.
A tan line. The ghost of a ring.
Oh…
Of course he was married.
Figures.
