Summary
When Izuku moves away at the age of ten, Katsuki tries to forget his former friend with his stupid "dormant" and undiscovered quirk. After his clear soul mark comes in, waiting to fill with colour upon contact with the other half of the pair and just before he's due to attend UA, he finally sees the nerd again. Only now he's stacked with delicious muscle and Katsuki struggles with unwelcome feelings as he tries to figure out exactly what is going on with the other teen.
Izuku on the other hand has been busy training to be a hero! A chance encounter with a stoic Pro-Hero sets him up for training and special advanced education so he can be fast tracked towards the life he'd always dreamed of. As he walks the halls of UA, not as a member of the hero course but as a special student, he reconnects with Kacchan. The explosive teen hasn't changed much and neither has his unending admiration for him.
The two of course dance around one another, missing the opportunity to unlock something special that would come with the discovery of their soulmate status until one day that changes...

“Oh, fuck no,” Bakugou groans, his face turning a little red. Denki grins; he loves it when people embarrass Bakugou. It’s his one and only reason to live.
“Everyone!” Izuku yells, “if I may have your attention!”

Contrary to popular opinion, Bakugou Katsuki does care about people. He just has weird ways of showing it.
And his friends? Well, they care about him right back. And now that Deku's finally his friend again? He's gonna show it, too.

That they finally finally finally understand each other. That Izuku doesn’t have to hide from Kacchan and Kacchan doesn’t have to hide from Izuku. That they’re everything that Izuku has ever wanted them to be-
And that’s where Izuku he’s been lying to himself. He’s too selfish to let this be everything that he wants. He’s too selfish not to want more. And really, how is he supposed to be anything but selfish when it comes to Kacchan? When his personal symbol of all things beautiful and heroic and good finally feels human and attainable and sees him?
How can Izuku not be in love with Katsuki Bakugo?

“It can be hard to give up your first hero design, and you did a great job,” Kirishima said. “You definitely had the best one out of all of us when we first got our costumes."
Bakugo hunched his shoulders. “I didn’t design it,” he grumbled.
