Summary
She's loved him for such a big part of her life that it's long become part of her core. He was always too clueless to notice things like that, focused instead on getting everyone's love when all along he could have had hers.
It's no matter however. They find themselves eventually. And perhaps together they'll have a chance of sorting this big, big mess out. Akatsuki and villages and the nations and old men's mentalities that threaten to remain unmoved even with the threat of complete obliteration at their doors.
Still, in the lonely nights spent by himself, Naruto can't help but begrudge himself for having been so stupidly oblivious. If he hadn't been, they would have had years and years, and perhaps he wouldn't have to feel so clueless around her anymore. That was one thing he knew for sure. He had years to make up for.
So yeah, this'll be a retelling of sorts, but it'll be much more focused on them as a couple (and other non-canon couples). I guess I'm writing this just to give Hinata the love she deserves.
