Summary
Sometimes it’s easy for the others to forget just how inherently human Bruce is compared to the rest of the League. He’s an exceedingly rich and famous human, sure, but not a super one. Not one with super speed or invulnerability, no otherworldly strength or powerful magic. No flight, no heat vision, no super-sonic screams or mystical objects with odd side effects in his possession.
He’s just… a guy in a mask.
But a brilliant mind with a bank account to back it? Now that… that, he had in spades.
Unfortunately for him, though, both of those things often got his civilian counterpart into more trouble than he was worth. And considering his most recent bank statement, that was saying a lot.

It hadn’t been difficult to convince Bruce that this is a trap--no, he’d readily agreed to that--the leaving it well enough alone and letting Clark handle it he’d argued against--loudly. Clark can’t deny that he’s probably right--that whatever trap lies on this ship is almost certainly going to be laced with kryptonite and enough firepower to end his life once he’s weakened.
That doesn't mean he has to like hanging back and watching Bruce walk into a trap that's meant for him, and once it's sprung, he likes it even less.

Makarov slithered out from beneath Ghost’s boot again and instantly made months of work worthless.
Well, it wasn’t completely worthless. Ghost opened his eyes to look at Soap again. No. Unmasking Soap was something. They’d seen him before, Makarov’s newest pet assassin. But this time, during the fighting, they’d gotten close, and when Ghost knocked the mask off, underneath, it was Johnny.
“Soap?” Ghost had asked, frozen and dropping his ready stance. All his training fell to the wayside in the face of his partner.
“Who the fuck is Soap?”
