So no, Fox hadn’t been surprised when a handful of Corries had been dispatched to assist Ponds and Neyo’s battalion.

He knows his master won't approve, which is why he has brought his best friend, Mace Windu, to help stand guard. Meanwhile, Master Dooku is also at the Archives, with Jocasta Nu. What could possibly go wrong?
Crack fic in which Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn loses control of the space armadillo-rat mashup creature he has adopted and everyone involved runs amok in the Archives. Jocasta Nu has something she meant to give to Qui-Gon earlier: a user's manual for living with Yan Dooku.

Qui-Gon watched Mace for a moment before turning his attention back to the boy on the other end of the comlink. “I don’t know Padawan, but I will find you.”
“...find me?” his voice sounded younger than it should’ve and he let out a small whimper.
There is an unspoken rule throughout the galaxy - if you go after a Jedi Padawan you better make sure the Master isn’t breathing. Unfortunately, not everyone follows that particular rule.

I will always have the Force."But, after the initial shock wears off, having the Force doesn’t feel sufficient. Obi-Wan has the Force, yes, but very little else.
And it is terrifying.
(Obi-Wan suffers for decades, for no other reason than that Palpatine is unsurprisingly evil.

Luminous beings are we, Yoda was fond of saying, and Obi-Wan felt that he was beginning to understand it. Qui-Gon often appeared cool and commanding, but his Force-presence was warm and gentle. He wrapped Obi-Wan in a sense of calm security. Achieving a healing trance felt less like falling asleep, and more like waking up—waking up in a luminous world of warmth and light.
But as he reached for the hazy glow of the Force, Obi-Wan’s attention was drawn elsewhere: to small specks of shadow that had slipped past Qui-Gon’s shields. Amidst the comfort and safety, he caught glimpses of fear, anguish, and despair. They burst like bubbles when he brushed against them, vanishing into the clear golden light, but Obi-Wan felt his heart freeze in the instant he touched them. Even the briefest glimpse of grief was overwhelming. He could not imagine what it must feel like to live like this, day in and day out.
Focus, Qui-Gon whispered, and Obi-Wan forced himself to look away.
