Summary
Echo watched white sheets of gelid crystals fracture against the gray of the slippery helipad, and breathed out a long sigh that fogged the transparisteel window.
“Hey, I said no sighing, moping, or griping without me.” A heavy warmth plopped itself down at Echo’s side and immediately leaned onto his shoulder, squishing him against the window.
The ARC startled and grunted, though he supposed he should have expected something of the kind, having left his twin to entertain himself for two whole minutes while he checked the weather. “Fives…”

Summary
“I can’t do this, Cody. I can’t.”
Cody sighed and set down his datapad, then reached for his lukewarm caf that had been marinating in silence since the call began. He hadn’t been seated at his desk for very long yet – he had originally just come in to his office for a late-night date with a mountain of paperwork – but he could already guess that Rex’s rant wasn’t going to end anytime soon. “Yes, you can, Rex’ika,” he said tiredly. “And you will.”
“I can NOT.”

Summary
Echo tries to reinstate cleanliness to the Marauder, but ends up uncovering a sibling blackmailing scheme instead.
“I put you on cleaning duty.”
“So you did, after your disproportionate reaction to the discovery of my latest project.” The huff behind his words betrayed Tech’s lingering annoyance at said reaction.
Echo could have commented on it, but he was too concerned with another topic to follow his usual routine. His frown just deepened, and his scomp began to spin a little. “So why is Crosshair the one with the duster?”
“That is simple.” Tech blinked. “I am blackmailing him.”

Summary
“Where’s the reg?”
Echo heard the raspy question, but burrowed deeper into his dark hideaway instead of answering it. Usually he would have been able to hear Crosshair enter the cabin, but he had taken off his headpiece an hour ago, leaving his damaged hearing unsupported by the hearing aids that Tech had built him. He wanted to tell his new brother that he was fine.
But he wasn't.

Summary
Qui-Gon is already exhausted by his new padawan's endless curiosity, so he decides to make them both some tea. But Obi-Wan has questions about that process, too, and the maverick still has more to learn about his little student.
“What is that?”
“It’s tea, little one.” While he remained mindful of the steaming kettle and pair of mugs, trying to will tiny, curious fingers away from the warming ceramic, Qui-Gon had to chuckle at his young padawan’s words. He had only been this little creature’s guardian for hours, and already he had answered so many questions that he was beginning to feel like a walking encyclopedia.

Summary
Cody’s handwriting is legible, but just barely. That’s all the Kaminoans were concerned with – efficiency and uniformity – and if he ever needed to write anything beyond the scribbled correction on a report, the assumption was that he could just type it.
But he typed battle reports. He typed requisitions and lists of the dead. When he gets the chance to write to Riyo during their time apart, he wants it to be different, somehow. He wants this to be something that is just for them. He wants her to have a piece of him to remember, if one day he becomes a number on one of those dead lists.
So he practices his handwriting. He writes pages and pages of nonsense, of things he could never say aloud – things he won’t write to her, not yet. Not until he’s better.
Not until he’s good enough.

Summary
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan may have had a rocky beginning as teacher and student, but now they share one of the strongest master-padawan bonds in recent memory. They remain side by side through every assignment and trial, admired by their fellow Jedi and deeply in tune with each other.
Then Obi-Wan's visions return, and Qui-Gon is struck down by an assassin's poisoned blade.
“I saw him kill you.” The younger Jedi’s words were falsely steady, his brave attempt at stoicism undercut by the unbroken thread of concern now thrumming from his side of their connection. “You were dead.”
Curse these blasted visions. Why couldn’t the Force give Obi-Wan a few relaxing, happy futures to look at on occasion, was what Qui-Gon wanted to know.
“As you said, the Force reveals only potential futures,” he noted soothingly. “Not concrete ones.”
Obi-Wan’s eyes searched his, their perception disturbingly clear as usual.
“But this one felt real.”

When the other Batchers join Echo and Fives for game night, Hunter stays back to hang out with Cody and Rex...but Cody has to finish reports first, so he lets Rex watch Hunter for a few hours.
Given how little the captain currently knows about his newly adopted brother's enhancements, though, that may have been a bad idea.

Summary
Crosshair and Wrecker are supposed to be on watch, and they are, technically -- they just got a little distracted.
“Whoa.” Wrecker’s brown eyes sparkled brighter than the fireflies as he watched three of the little bugs flicker from one place to another.
Balancing a toothpick between his teeth, Crosshair stole a look at his brother out of the corner of his eye and smiled faintly. Technically, the two of them were supposed to be on watch, but Hunter hadn’t told them that they couldn’t lie down in the grass to see the weird little creatures that blinked on and off when you least expected them to.
Besides, what was the need for a night watch when Hunter would hear, smell, or sense an intruder long before they posed a threat?

Summary
Shep gets worried after he hasn't seen the Batchers for nearly an entire day, and goes to investigate. He unintentionally intrudes upon a memorial service and learns of yet another loss the clone soldiers suffered during the days of the War.
Shep tried to keep his features schooled, but inside he was getting even more confused by the moment. "Ninety-Nine?" he repeated, wondering if he had heard the name correctly.
"Yeah. He was the first defective the longnecks allowed to decant, so the other cadets just called him by his number." Hunter watched the whiskey glimmer through the sunlit glass. "You know, he always made sure every other clone had a name, but in the end, he never gave himself one."
