Summary
Husk is a down on his luck drunk who’s running out of money and second chances when he lands a job at The Mirage, the last queer speakeasy still standing in 1937 New York City. "I thought about asking you out, back when you dyed your hair." Soobin lifts his head, startled. Yeonjun is smiling, small, almost shy. He raises a hand to push some of Soobin's fringe off his eyes.
"The blond hair really did it for you, didn't it?" Soobin jokes, trying to sound nonchalant.
He's not. He had blond hair in their second year. That was two years ago.
Yeonjun giggles. "It was a very good look. And with the glasses? Delectably nerdy." Soobin rolls his eyes and nuzzles back onto Yeonjun's chest. He's taller than the other, so he needs to bend his knees to keep his feet inside the bed, but he doesn't really care about that.
"Why didn't you?" Soobin asks after a while. "I would have said yes."
OR, on the night of graduation, Soobin and Yeonjun come to terms with all the time they lost.

“Oh my god,” Yeonjun interrupted, exasperation mixing with something warm and unsteady, “are you actually jealous?”
Soobin went very still. The tips of his ears burned red.
“Of course not,” He stopped, exhaled, and then looked Yeonjun dead in the eye. “It’s just—” Soobin swallowed, glancing over his shoulder like he was checking that none of the engineers were paying attention. “I don’t like seeing you in his number.”
Yeonjun tried and failed to smother a laugh. “You’re ridiculous.”
Soobin stepped closer, close enough that the faint synthetic scent of his fireproofs and helmet cleaner reached Yeonjun’s nose.
“What?” He asked, oblivious.
“Take it off.”
Yeonjun gaped at him. “Excuse me?”
“Take it off,” he repeated.
Yeonjun stared at him, heat rising up the back of his neck so fast he thought he might actually pass out.
“Soobin,” His voice came out thin and incredulous. “I am not taking my shirt off in the middle of your garage.”Or, the fastest pilot in motorsport and the most gifted figure skater alive never meant to fall in love. But somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like just friendship.

Yeonjun welcomes the silence as Soobin stares blankly into his mug without a response. In comfortable static noise, he lets Soobin remain as mute as he needs to be until he is capable of forming his thoughts. It takes a couple minutes, just birds chirping in the distance and Yeonjun's eyes studying on the pattern of Soobin's underwear, and eventually Soobin starts in a small, exhausted voice, "What if I give up?"
"I'm sorry?" Yeonjun mutters, waiting for an explanation.
"If they’re happy, is that enough for us?"

Yeonjun’s head snapped toward Taehyun, eyebrows furrowed. “I tried showing him in front of the practice room mirrors, but trust me, it’s easier said than done.”
Taehyun waved him off. “Oh no, not the dance practice room mirrors,” He paused, his grin turned devilish, “The one in his bedroom.”
Yeonjun knows where this is going. His face flushed instantly as the insinuation hit him. “You’re insane,” he muttered, trying to suppress the very thoughts Taehyun was implying. He rubbed his temples, as if that would somehow erase the image now stubbornly lodged in his brain.
“Come on, think about it. He’s got a perfectly good ceiling mirror, you’ve got an unresolved... thing, and I’m just saying, maybe that’s the real way to help him,”
Or,
Yeonjun's crush on Soobin becomes a real problem when they're paired for a unit song with some very intimate choreography. Add in a certain ceiling mirror and Yeonjun’s not-so-innocent thoughts, and things quickly get awkward. Taehyun’s playful teasing doesn’t help either. The tension finally snaps in a heated moment, leaving Yeonjun and Soobin questioning what’s really going on between them.- Language:

Yeonjun never spends mating season with someone, everyone in their village knows that. Soobin can't hide his surprise when as soon as he volunteers for helping dragons in their mating season, Yeonjun calls for him before anyone else can

“And why aren’t you with your sugar daddy?” Beomgyu says, mid-chewing.
Soobin takes a bite of his roll. The sugar glaze clings onto his skin. It’s sticky like drying art glue. He waits for Beomgyu to elaborate his question, despite knowing it already. Soobin swallows.
He reaches over to swipe the sugar off his finger on Beomgyu’s flannel. Beomgyu stumbles backwards in an attempt to avoid it. He yelps when his heels bang against Soobin’s bed.
“It’s Wednesday today,” Soobin says.
“Oh, you guys need to make appointments to meet each other,” Beomgyu says, licking sugar off his own fingers. “I almost forgot you are,” Beomgyu adds, mischievousness already lacing in his words.
“A sugar baby.”
