Summary
Eddie doesn't expect to get into trouble for his recent drug business, although he probably should have. Even less does he expect Steve Harrington of all people to save his sorry ass with a nail bat that looks awfully at home in his hands. Least of all, though, does he expect Harrington to insist on skipping town for a while to avoid the fallout.
The Winter holidays of '84 seem intent on proving him wrong on all fronts. Thrown into a spontaneous road trip-slash-cut-and-run to San Francisco—just until things back home blow over, Munson—Eddie has all the time in the world to confront such questions as: why would Harrington care to help him? Why does he wake up from nightmares more often than not? And, maybe most importantly, why is the former King so ready to leave Hawkins behind on a whim?
Or: idiot boys make impulsive idiot decisions, and along the way—reluctantly but inevitably—they fall in love. A story of endless winter streets, finding family, and leaving home to find a new one.

Summary
Eddie loathes the idea of soulmates. The words his soulmate will say the moment they realize they are in love with him sit heavy on his wrist. Heavy like a burden, like a cursed prophet, harbinger of death. Others cry tears of joy when they get their words, Eddie had cried tears of anxiety. The dark letters on his wrist read, “Dustin died.”
On the other side of town and yet worlds apart from Eddie, Steve loathes the words on his wrist just as much. Not because he doesn’t want a soulmate. No, he longs for them every day. And every day is a painful reminder that he hasn’t found them yet when someone randomly calls out his words. The letters on his wrist simply say, “Hey Steve.”

Summary
Steve Harrington is born with a scream on his lips and so much love in his being that his body is covered in it. An abundance of moles, freckles, and birthmarks are speckled across his skin, painting him in constellations and stardust and affection.
The nurses and doctors are congratulating Steve’s parents as they place him in the arms of his mother. They say he is blessed. Lived so many lives filled with people who loved him so much that the press of their lips against his skin had to echo through time and leave a mark.
