Everybody has one. The "one that got away". Someone you always go back to thinking about whenever you're single, and alone.
For James Potter, that has always been Regulus Black.
For years they cross paths, never at the right time. Never able to make anything stick.
For years, James ruins relationships, good relationships, by falling back into bed with him.
Then James gets married, and forgets about him for a while. He's happy. Until he's not.
But it was always going to be Regulus for him, in the end. Even if their real start happens a bit sooner than Lily might like
