Honestly, it was just a fun idea Emma came up with during the bi-weekly hang out she has with Yuzuha and the couple. It’s not an uncommon sight to see the boy fall victim to makeovers, be it his hair being styled with hello kitty hairpins to his fashion style being berated, he’d taken it all with a wry smile. That is, until Emma’s idea was met with furrowed eyebrows.
“You want to prank toman into thinking I got beaten up?” Takemichi tilted his head, trying to understand Emma’s request. Even the other two didn’t look convinced with the idea.
(or, Takemichi falls victim in the girls idea of a prank and the others reacted in a way that exceeds his expectations.)

Summary
Keith has always known he’s different.
That part is old news. He made peace with it a long time ago, somewhere between flunking out of the Garrison and discovering he was half-Galra. Compared to that, being a little awkward, a little out of place, barely even registers.
What does not make sense is the rest of it. Because at no point during the rebuilding of the universe, the formation of the Coalition, or his promotion to Blade Leader did anyone sit him down and 'say, hey, by the way, you got taller!'.
If he had been better at it, he might have realized sooner that he’d had some sort of growth spurt.
The first one to notice it was Pidge.

Seeking comfort in materialistic things is normal. But you? You decided to spend your sorrow into an incompleted visual novel called "The Freak Circus." It was silly, you knew that, but would you stop? Hell, no.
In fact, you couldn't even count how many times you replayed the game, over and over again, just to pick the same ol' known options. It was pathetic. Nothing could replace the fulfillment it gave you, but soon the hole in your heart started to form again.
Oh, how you wished you could oh-so suddenly wake up within the game. A place to start a new life, one where you wouldn't have to face your real life struggles, and not to mention meeting the characters you loved... But that's just an absurd dream to keep hidden inside a drawer somewhere.
And it sure was absurd, but alas, it wasn't a dream anymore.
or: you isekai into the tfc story as a separate character from the player entity. the story now depends on your free will, but you decide not to draw too much attention. despite that, dynamics change, things get layered, and unexpected things happen...
