Summary
The trail took them high enough around the central clearing that they could feed the giraffes; a couple of families were already gathered at the railing, children digging in bags of zoo-provided treats. Andy pulled her own bag out of a voluminous jacket pocket and came to a stop a few feet farther along. She looked positively gleeful when she was able to coax a giraffe away from the crowd.
Nile watched her expertly avoid the (frankly alarmingly long) questing tongue to get a pellet into the animal’s mouth. “You really like them, huh?”
“More than that, I respect them.” Nile looked at her quizzically; it was hard to imagine respecting something that was so determinedly waggling its tongue at you. Andy handed over another pellet. “They were my greatest failure. I’ve had a soft spot for them ever since.”

Summary
The thought of what Joe must think of him now frightens him even more than the terror of being abducted and restrained. It hurts more than the things they stick into him or the cuts they make in him. He alternately commands and begs his captors - to let him go, to explain themselves, to send a message to Joe. All they do in response is inject him with something that makes him too groggy and sick to talk. If this were an interrogation, he’d tell them anything, answer any question, just to be able to tell Joe, “I didn’t leave you, I didn’t go by choice.”
But they don’t ask him anything. They don’t speak to him at all.

Summary
What do you talk about with a thousand-year-old man when you've just discovered you're immortal yourself (after you've questioned his interior decorating, that is)? If you're Nile Freeman, and the man is Yusuf al-Kaysani, you might start with art history.

Summary
“Maybe it’s not actually here?”
Andromache shook her head, frustrated. “It’s here. I know it’s here. It’s just not where I thought it would be. Looks like you’ll have to help me. You start from that end, I’ll start from this end.” She didn’t even look at Quỳnh to confirm, just started rooting through the nearest crate as if there was no question Quỳnh would go along. Which, to be fair, there wasn’t. Quỳnh sighed, sat down in the clear space she’d made, opened an ancient wooden chest, and got to work.
Or: Quỳnh and Andy take a three-millennia walk down memory lane.
Or: 5 items from Andy's past that weren't the right gift for Nile, and 1 that was. Fic by astraea215, art and beta reading by sassy_wartime_nun.

Summary
I really don't know what to say about this. I use the Sims to make fanvids. No, I didn't expect my life to end up like this either. Some will be like music videos, some will be more dramatic, all will be completely ridiculous because what else could they possibly be.
