Summary
Kyojuro Rengoku loves his father. Truly, there was never a more dutiful and dedicated son. But, when he comes home after a mission to find that his father is responsible for injuring his beloved younger brother, Senjuro, he know that they can no longer live under the same roof as him. He'll never give up on his belief that his father will one day regain himself to the man he once knew, but until that happens, he needs to do what is best for Senjuro.
Kyojuro loves his father, but he loves his little brother more.
Now without a place to call home, Kyojuro and Senjuro receive aid from an unexpected source, the standoffish Water Pillar, Tomioka Giyu, offers the Water Estate as a place of refuge for the two to stay. While grateful for the offer, and an end to their plight, Kyojuro is also eager to take this new cohabitation to learn more about his elusive coworker. He will soon find this a greater challenge than he originally anticipated, but he is nothing if not determined. As they continue to grow closer, Kyojuro may find he has room in his heart to love one more.

"Th-This is -" Chris stutters, gulping around the bile in the back of his throat. Chris wishes Jill hadn't come; he wishes she was far, far away from here, somewhere on a different continent. She didn't need to see this. She didn't need to see a room like this ever again.
Jill stares at the table in the middle of the room, eyes hard, ears flat, voice cold, "They call them operation theaters. But - " She aborts her sentence, the words "It's more like a torture chamber" hanging in the air as the thing in the cage shifts again, it's breathing ragged. [...]
"It's -" Chris starts, voice low, heart aching as he catches a glimpse of blue, terrified eyes, "A man." A man, yes, but a young man. A boy.
