Summary
Her cloak whipped as she leapt forward, a cloud of rose petals curling around the room to slam into the back of the CEO’s chair. The VIP let out a surprised grunt as the cloud coalesced back into the form of a tall, lithely muscular woman brandishing a scythe - now folded down into the form of a rifle - who wrapped a single gloved hand around her neck and forced her to bend backwards over her desk, unbalancing her and causing heeled shoes to scrabble at the ground for a second as she tried to get her footing at the awkward angle. Without losing her grip on the shorter woman’s throat, the Huntress brought the muzzle of her rifle up to press obliquely against her Prey’s temple. With her prize quite literally in the palm of her hand, the Reaper’s lips split in the baring of teeth.
“Oh noooo, whatsoever will I do,” Weiss said, voice in a flat, uninterested monotone, “the nefarious rogue huntress has cut through my guard and now I am at her mercy. Truly, the day is lost.”

Summary
It had only been a week since the start of the year, and team RWBY weren't any closer to becoming the ultimate friends Ruby thought they would be. Something had to be done, and after a brief discussion the group came up with Team Bonding Day. Once a week each member of the team was free to pick an activity for them all to do. Sometimes it was fun, sometimes it seemed like more work. But they would all agree that the plan worked, and they felt closer with each other than ever before.
There was no doubt that they quickly became close friends. But as the weeks went on it was clear that something more than friendship was beginning to brew between them.

“I see,” the faunus whispered, “I’m glad you really love her.”
Weiss smiled as well, the blush now visible than ever, “Yeah,” she breathed happily, “I do.”

“Weiss!” Ruby calls to her, beaming with a grin that reaches her eyes. Silver sparkles, reflecting the porchlights, and Weiss is certain she has never seen anything more beautiful in her entire life. “It’s raining!”
She gives a wry smile, deadpanning as she motions around, “No kidding.”
“Come here, come here, come here!” Ruby darts over to her, standing on the dirt trail while Weiss shelters on the porch. She extends her hand to her and Weiss’s fingers twitch to accept it. Always accept it, and never let her go. “Please?”
“I don’t appreciate getting wet if I don’t have to, Ruby. You enjoy the rain for both of us.”
“But,” Ruby pouts, features dimming the slightest bit, (it sends a spike of panic through her heart), “I want to dance with you.”
Weiss snorts, “You can’t dance.”
“So, teach me!”
“In the rain?”
“In the rain.”
Weiss purses her lips, crossing her arms with a slow sigh. Resigning herself to her fate as she enjoys her last few seconds of being dry until she steps off of the porch and immediately gets bombarded by the cold water. Her nose wrinkles.
“You’re lucky I love you.”

After the final battle against Salem is wrought, humanity wins. But to them, it doesn't feel like a victory.Because Ruby is dead.
Team RWBY have searched and searched for their missing leader, but after years of no results, they've gone their separate ways. Weiss became the Head of the SDC with her brother, Yang became a huntress, working on odd jobs around Remnant, and Blake became the leader of the White Fang. They each have had to learn to live a life without Ruby Rose.
For Weiss, it's the hardest thing in the world to do. But she does it.
On the week of the anniversary of the battle, when the three of them drop everything else to do their annual hunt, things proceed as they usually do. In the mountains of Mistral, they hunt their elusive quarry and try to treat this mission as every other. It's just a normal mission. Right?
