Gasping in horror, Steve stood up and asked, "What happened?"
Eddie rubbed his hand over his newly shaved head, making a brushing sound as he showed Steve a stapled wound on the left side of his head. "One of the inmates said I looked like a girl, so..." Eddie's voice trailed off, and he fought back tears.
Or..
Eddie turns himself in after escaping the upside down in order to get medical care. Steve turns out to be one of Eddie’s biggest supporter as trial looms closer.

Summary
Buck trained his eyes firmly on the wall as Maddie carefully picked up one of the tests.
Her gasp made Buck’s eyes flicker back to her, his heart leaping up into his throat and pounding violently.
“Is it, am I—” Buck rushed out before he got a good look at both of the tests she was holding up.
They both had plus signs, dark and unmistakable.
Maddie’s eyes were wet with fresh tears. “Oh, Buck,” She whispered, reverent and choked up. “You’re pregnant.”
“Holy shit,” Buck said, grabbing the tests from her to get an even better look at them himself. It was like he was in a dream. A really good one; the kind he’d forced himself to stop conjuring up after every endless breakup.
“Maddie,” He said, voice thick with his own bout of tears. “I’m gonna have a baby.”

Buck had never felt so alone as he laid in his car staring up at the roof, trying to get to sleep on its hard seats. This year had official been the worst year of his life. First he was blown up and had a fire truck land on his leg, then he had an embolism and was caught in a tsunami and now he’s dead broke, living in his car as he doesn’t want to tell anyone how bad things had gotten.

Or, Buck finds himself living in his car after lawsuit, too scared to go to anyone for help due to their broken relationship when an old friend offers him a job at his bar.
