“Draco?” The older Draco; the older him spoke, his brows raised in amazement, his mouth parted slightly. “Fuck. It’s you…me. Wow.”
Draco swallowed. Hearing his voice come out of someone else was strange. He sounded…nicer. Happier. The edge behind his words was gone, no longer dripping in sarcasm and hidden behind sneers. He had a softness to him that Draco never did.
“H-hi” he mumbled, suddenly abashed. This version of him looked to be everything Draco had pretended to be in his younger years. Well put-together, effortlessly confident. And there was more. There was an unfamiliar kindness behind his eyes, his mouth sat comfortably in a smile, rather than the thin hard line that he had so well come to know in the past few years.

Summary
Harry's hopes to settle down after the war are dashed, once again, by the Ministry of Magic. He's given a compromise: more time to spend with his family, if he agrees to assume the role of bodyguard. For none other than Draco Malfoy. As if things couldn't get any worse. Only, Harry starts to realise that he's developed prejudices of his own against Draco, and as they begin to grow closer, they each start question their old rivalry.
With a very real threat to Draco's life thrown into the mix, Harry comes to realise just how much he's come to care for the troubled Malfoy heir.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: I have made the decision to orphan this work, not because I dislike what I’ve written here, I’m actually very proud of this work and it saddens me to have to do this, but because Harry Potter is no longer a safe space for me. If you still find joy from the world of Harry Potter, and my writing, I appreciate that, and would never take that away (which is why I haven’t deleted this fic), but I myself no longer feel connected to the franchise. Thank you everyone who supported me during, and after the fic writing process :)

Summary
