The son of one of the three demon kings is set to be mated during his twentieth year. A competition is being held and is open to any human or half-demon who wants to join. The winner will be selected based on who the committee believes is the best suited to their beloved prince. There will be a series of trials where the competitors will be able to showcase their strengths and prove themselves as worthy to stand by his side.
The only problem is that the prince thinks this is a stupid system and would rather choose for himself. While scouting out his potential suitors, a human with pretty ginger hair catches his eye. Tough, loud, and surprisingly sweet, he thinks he’s found the one he wants to win. The only problem is that the human isn’t here to be a suitor and joined only due to a miscommunication. Now the prince needs to find a way to not only make him stay in the competition, but win it as well. All without him finding out just who he is.

Spirit World is always so high and mighty, patting itself on the back for its enlightened ideas without bothering to understand how its decrees will play out. If Human World was actually going to try and make nice with the demons, they wouldn’t have selected Kuwabara and Yusuke as ambassadors. Yusuke knows for a fact that the shitty human school they were transferred out of just wanted them gone.

In this au, Demon World and Human World coexist with a tenuous relationship while Spirit World has dominant control over the two realms. In an effort to improve the relationship between Demon World and Human World, Spirit World facilitates a student exchange program. Summary
Kuwabara's village has been tormented by demons for generations. He vows to drive back the demons and free humans by killing the demon prince Yusuke. He's out of his league and the demon prince considers him more of a toy to waste time on than an actual threat, but he's confident he'll get him one day. He's not sure why Yusuke hasn't killed him yet, but he'll use it to his advantage.
Kurama, the local doctor's assistant, has other ideas. Sparing Kuwabara means Yusuke must have a soft heart, and that's a weakness he can use to his advantage.
