Wei Ying’s voice drifts up the cliff face like smoke. “Lan Zhan.”
Lan Wangji doesn’t answer, only tightens his grip. If he held him any harder, the bones of his wrist would splinter.
“Let me go.” The look on his face is pleading. Lan Wangji can’t bear it. He does so anyway.
He doesn’t shut his eyes this time. He won’t. If Wei Ying must die this way night after night, he deserves, at the very least, a witness.

On a cliff at the edge of Nightless City, Wei Wuxian let go.
At least, he tried to. Lan Wangji, plagued by strange dreams of him, suspects that things may not be so simple.

Q is just so peaceful with his legs draped across Eliot’s on the window seat, face mashed indelicately against his chest. Eliot looks down at him and thinks, If anyone tries to wake this idiot up I’ll curse them into next week. It wouldn’t even be out of any personal fondness for him, really. Just an understanding that something as unbearably fragile as a Quentin Nap fundamentally demands protection from whoever is able to provide it. And it seems he’s been recruited.
