Summary
Jack Desmond, a normal cartoon office worker, lives a life of peace in the Toon Genre when he stumbles upon a wounded stranger in a dark alleyway and, against his better judgment, brings him home. Gavriel Huffman, a scary mobster boss from the Grim Genre, awakens patched up in an unknown apartment, finding himself being taken care of by a nervous yet earnest cartoon man.
As the Grim man begrudgingly accepts the Toon's help, the two strangers learn to coexist under one roof and shenanigans ensue as Gavriel's sudden appearance is met with suspicion by people in Jack's life.

Summary
Donnie’s words apparently mean something to them, but Leo’s focus stays on the large stretch of their shoulders like a bug gets stuck on a corkboard, a pin through each wing. They tense beneath their cloak, seeming surprisingly skittish, uncertain for such an imposing frame. It holds, for a beat, maybe two, before they apparently come to a decision. The skittishness rolls off like water, and Leo loses focus on the rest of the fight entirely. It’s the way they shift to hold themself that grabs him. It looks like they’re readying for war. Like they’re used to having eyes constantly on them. They look important. Powerful.
It’s horribly out of place in this dull, unremarkable New York alleyway.
The figure straightens, their stance falling into a guard easier than Leo can breathe, and then three things happen in quick succession.
Mikey goes flying by the mutant's horns. One.
Big, blue, and hooded wraps a hand around one of Leo's dropped swords. Two.
The mutant falls to the ground in a puddle of blood.
Three.
