Summary
In the end, moving in with Buck is surprisingly easy.
It still breaks Eddie’s brain a little to think about it like that. This is his house, has been his house for years, the best years of his life, probably. This is where Christopher grew up, the place they both call home still. And sure, Eddie’s been renting it all this time, so it might not technically be his, but it’s close enough, right?
Close enough, except he moved all his belongings into a Uhaul and then into El fucking Paso, into what was supposed to be a fixer-upper and turned out to be some sort of haunted husk of a house with more problems than Eddie has hairs on his head, and now it’s not really home anymore, hasn’t been home for a while, except it also kind of never stopped.

“Okay, come here,” Eddie says, dropping the sponge and dish he was cleaning into the soapy water with a splash. He’s tugging on Buck’s elbow, then, the wetness from his fingers seeping into Buck’s clothes and all the way through to his skin.
“Uh, what?” Buck brings out, but he’s helpless to do anything but follow Eddie’s lead and let go of the tea towel.
“We’re dancing,” Eddie says, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

Summary
Buck is lying on his back, face calm and peaceful. His chest rises slowly, his cheeks are tinged rosy. His hair is fluffy, having air-dried over the course of his nap, allowing his curls to fall naturally instead of being combed away with product. Eddie likes it best this way. It feels more like Buck instead of Prince Evan.
What doesn’t feel like Buck at all is the way he’s lying here. He’s so still, so perfectly centred in his massive bed. The sheets are barely even wrinkled. Eddie has been around a sleeping Buck often enough to know that he moves around a lot.

Because of all people, the most likely one to know who Buck is in love with is Eddie himself.
It’s just what they do. Years ago, they’d promised to have each other’s backs, and since then, they’ve been like this. Buck knows Eddie, and Eddie knows Buck, and somewhere along the way, they became BuckandEddie and they haven’t looked back since.

Summary
“Okay, okay,” Buck concedes with a laugh. He doesn’t totally believe Eddie, because there’s no way his job holds any weight against a fucking rocket scientist. But then he looks down at Christopher who is rubbing at Eddie’s scalp as fast as he can, creating a soapy lather. Eddie is grinning as he reaches back to use the suds to style his hair into an exaggerated mohawk, twisting in his chair to pull faces at his son, and Buck admits to himself that maybe his job is pretty fucking important.

The one where Eddie outsources his hair washing post shooting, meets Buck, and learns to accept the good things in life.

Summary
Eddie lets him finish his toast and eggs so they can face each other before he talks again. “Can I do anything?”
His hand is still rubbing Buck’s shoulder, thumb creeping up his neck in a reverse image of the way he usually holds Buck like this, when his thumb presses into his pulse point and doesn’t move until Buck makes eye contact.
This, Buck decides, is infinitely more intimate, with how they’re pressed up against each other. “You’re already doing it,” Buck answers honestly with a smile.

Buck doesn’t tell anyone about his insomnia for six months. Eddie notices anyway, but neither of them talk about it until it’s nearly six am and he wakes up to Buck climbing in his bed—not having slept since before their 24-hour shift started yesterday. Eddie gets to show Buck how much he’s loved.
