Viktor learned early on that he would always be rejected. So, he stuffed his feelings into a box and threw away the key. It wasn't a good trait for a Zaunite, a budding scientist, to be so sensitive anyways.
Then, he meets Jayce Talis and everything kind of sort of changes.

So funny and embarrassing story: I'm back in the fucking building again (loving Rufus and his rights and wrongs unconditionally) after I saw his card in the Final Fantasy Magic the Gathering collection.
