Dante’s been having some pretty weird dreams lately. It’s probably nothing.
So what if he and Vergil keep getting into even worse fights than usual? They’ll figure it out. Eventually. Look, it’s not like he’s done something really bad like, say, break the rules—everything is fine just so long as he doesn’t stray too far from the only home he’s ever known.
After all, his brother is with him, and nothing could possibly go wrong when they’re together.

The first time it happens the windows are down, it’s a rather hot and humid night and Tadashi is exhausted. He needed something to do with his hands, and he’s not particularly proud of the fact he’s stolen some of the cigarettes from the back seat of the car.
Another Shindo family secret he must keep, he might as well indulge himself.
Tadashi breathes in the smoke and the humidity and the nighttime air all together and feels the tension in his muscles relax for the first time in a while.
It almost hurts, letting himself relax.

Kaoru slaps his palm on the table and the crystal clinks and sways dangerously. “Quit dodging the subject. What is this?”
Adam looks frustrated for a moment before he’s able to smooth out his countenance. “It’s whatever you, want it to be.”
Kaoru rolls his eyes.
“I’m not trying to be vague. I mean it. If you want to lay into me, with words or by other means, and never see me again, then that’s what this is. If it’s just-” Their eyes lock as Adam searches for words. His expression is more serious than it’s been all night. “If it’s just… penance until you’re satisfied, then that’s what this is. It’s whatever you want, Cherry.”
