Summary
“Aigoo, you’re really one of us then.”
“Oh. Um—” Jisung is aware that he really should clarify things, but words completely escape him at the moment.
“Yeah.” The lone man of the group shoots him a small, yet strangely blinding smile. “We’re all single parents here.”
“Oh.” Jisung, it seems, has completely fumbled his vocabulary.
“Come sit with us,” the group’s leader gestures to him. “You can share our lamentations. We all help each other out here.”
in which: Jisung’s life had been stuck in place for a while—same routines, same days, nothing really changing. Then he befriends a sharp-tongued teenager, somehow ends up in a single parents’ support group pretending to be his dad, and, for the first time in a long time, things start to move again.

Summary
Living alone with Minho used to be a thing of both fantasy and nightmare; something that Jisung both longed for and agonized over. Something he wanted, but, for a very long time, something that he also wasn’t sure he was confident about.
Now it's reality, and it's daunting, thinking about the many ways he could expose himself to Minho through living by themselves; the many new things he could possibly discover about Minho as well, good and bad. A part of Jisung knows it’s silly to think like this considering they’ve been together for five years; considering how, more than anyone, he wants to believe that he and Minho know each other inside out at this point.
“Hyung?” he calls out.
“Yeah?” Minho responds, and Jisung allows himself to relax. “Food’s here!”

Summary
“Minho-hyung, happy birthday,” Hyunjin tells Minho, who smiles cordially and accepts the greeting. “Hyung,” he greets, turning towards Changbin this time. “Long time no see.”
Changbin nods wordlessly.
“This is Jisung.” Minho takes it upon himself to break the silence, nudging Jisung forward.
“Hi,” Jisung squeaks out.
“Yeah, hi.” Hyunjin smiles awkwardly at him. “Felix and I recognize you from whenever you pick up Minho-hyung at the dance studios.”
Seungmin recalls Jisung mentioning that Minho is a dancer, and he guesses that Hyunjin is too, as well as the Felix guy next to him.
“And this is Seungmin,” Changbin pipes up, surprising him as his strong, beefy arm lands around Seungmin's shoulders. “He's here as my date.”
IN WHICH Seungmin gets roped into a pretend dating situation with his crush, and somehow, this is how he learns that sometimes, the missing piece of the puzzle is right in front of you.

Summary
“I don’t want to go home yet,” Minhee says as she turns the engine on. She glances at Jisung and offers a bright smile. “It’s a beautiful day,” she adds. “The weather’s really nice.”
“It is,” Jisung agrees; she sounds curt, but the smile she wears is genuine. And the weather really is nice; it's close to a perfect spring day, the air warm but not uncomfortably humid, and the wind present, but gentle.
“It makes me want to keep driving,” Minhee continues, and it’s amusing because she’s barely even pulled out of her car’s parking space.
Jisung gets it, though, and without much thought, her smile grows bigger, stretching across her round cheeks, and she nods, “Do it, then. Take me anywhere but home.”
in which Minhee and Jisung go on a drive, and something that's been building through the years—in the background—finally reaches it's culmination.

Summary
“So—you like idols?” Minho inquires curiously.
“I like music,” Jisung answers. “Do you want to know something fun?
“Hm?”
“I auditioned for JYP Entertainment when I was 15?” His nose scrunches in thought. “Maybe 16?”
Minho squints in scrutiny. “That’s your definition of something fun?”
Jisung laughs. “I guess it’s not really fun fun. But it’s something. Every now and then I wonder what if I got in—would I have debuted with this group, or that?”
Minho chortles. “I auditioned for them, too,” he shares quietly after a brief pause.
OR: In a world where neither Han nor Lee Know make it to JYP Entertainment, Han Jisung and Lee Minho still find their way to each other.

Summary
“I can help you out.”
Those were Hyunjin’s magic words. Minho had been skeptical, but Changbin had reminded him that at this point, they were pretty desperate for a vocalist, so they might as well hear Hyunjin out.
Minho had shrugged; had pretended to be unbothered. The truth was he knew that Changbin was right, and at the end of the day beggars can’t be choosers. A rock band can’t exactly function without a front man.
This is how they meet Han Jisung.
in which: Minho and Changbin need a frontman, while Jisung needs a place to live.

Summary
“Why didn't you tell me?” Jisung asks softly.
“That my marriage was falling apart?” Minho speaks so glibly, like it’s no big deal; like he’s talking about bad weather or heavy traffic.
Jisung groans, a little annoyed that this is how his concern is being met; but then he pulls back and considers—this is just how Minho is. How Minho always has been. He doesn’t like when people fuss over him, and he prefers keeping his problems to himself. Back in the day, Jisung knew how to penetrate his walls; he wants to think that he still does.
“Who wants to talk about a failing marriage, Jisung-ah?” Minho sighs. “We hardly see each other as it is—I’d rather have fun when we meet up. Wouldn’t you?”
in which: Jisung and Minho reconnect after Minho ends his marriage, and long buried memories, feelings, emotions, come bubbling up to the surface.
