    In the wild, there are rules.

    Predators do not hesitate.
    Prey do not linger.
    And nothing watches without reason.

    Nice and simple.

    Tav prefers simple things. If the world becomes too complicated, she breaks it down until it makes sense in the only language she trusts: instinct, survival, and patterns that repeat.

    But nothing about this journey is behaving.

    There is a devil who calls her a mouse and watches her like she is already part of a plan.
    There is a parasite in her mind that will not stay quiet.
    There are whispering urges she does not always recognize as her own.

    Tav is less certain she understands anything at all! Least of all why the world keeps insisting she is prey, when everything in her instincts says she is still standing.

    A devil watches.
    A parasite whispers.
    A blood pool beckons.
    And a series of choices begins to unfold in ways none of them entirely intended.
