A tinny clang of metal on metal rings out from around the corner, followed by a bitten-off curse, and Bode glances toward the doorway to the passenger cabins and ‘fresher. From the sound of it, the ‘fresher door is still open, at least part way.
He could… get up and check on him. Sidle around the corner, lean against the open door frame. Arms uncrossed, loose at his sides–open, inviting. Maybe tuck a thumb into his belt as he leans, just to give his hand a place to rest. Casual, easy, comfortable. Drop a playful offer to lend a hand.
He doesn't. He waits. Listens.

The second thought, as both Shostakov and Walker charge in like bulls competing for the only china shop in town, is: "We need to pick a leader before someone gets killed."
The Avengers are lightning in a bottle. And it turns out the New Avengers, Thunderbolts, whatever, aren't the second coming. Their next time out the gate already goes to hell barely half-way into the mission, where John and Bucky butt heads.
(Post-Thunderbolts. Bucky has unhealthy ways of coping and Walker's got no problems helping him out)

“Hey Scrapper.”
Cal whirls around, kicking himself back on instinct, tilting into a backward sprawl. His eyes widen, black pupils swallowing most of the green, a shiver racking down his spine.
Bode tilts his head. He sits above and across from Cal on the ledge, wedged into the horizontal branches of a tree. He has a hand hooked on the branch above him, swaying back and forth a little as he leans his cheek on his bicep. He watches Cal with soft, dark eyes, a touch of confusion in the tilt of his lips. The death veil lays in his lap, folded up into a square, Bode’s hand resting on it. Bode looks, in all appearances, like his usual self. Provided, at least, that Cal ignores the two perfect circles burned out of his shirt, the material around them soaked with blood, the peek of new pink skin underneath.
“Bode?” Cal hardly recognizes his own voice, raspy and barely-there.
Bode holds his hand up in greeting, his brows bending into a frown. “Hey, where are we? I don’t remember… getting here.”
