Rook's life is a mess, objectively speaking, and keeping the Lighthouse coffee bar running after the year she's had isn't making it any easier. Then she meets Lucanis Dellamorte, a rich guy with enough skeletons in his closet to fill a graveyard, and her life gets even messier. Grief is weird, being an adult is hard, and falling in love might be the messiest thing of all.
This is a story about two people falling in love, but it’s also my love letter to the friend group. It’s not a very serious story, except when it is (because life’s not that serious, except when it is.)

So does Rook, who is considered a hopeless spinster at the age of 26, but her parents have decided to give her one more chance to find a match.
Finding a common cause, Rook and Lucanis hatch a plan to get both of them through the season without having to deal with debutantes and suitors.This fic has absolutely nothing to do with the plot of the game. It is set very roughly at around 7:80 Storm, and I am taking *Liberties* with the history and people of Thedas and pretty much everything else (except, hopefully, the core of the characters) to suit my story.

Summary
Shepard came to a stop near the piano, in front of the large windows overlooking the Silversun Strip. It was odd to feel as peaceful as she did with a view of the bright neon lights and skycars zipping by in a blur.
But her days were usually filled with the sounds and sights of battle, of death and destruction. In comparison, the Silversun Strip pulsed with vibrancy and life. Others would see gambling, playing arcade games, and watching combat simulations as frivolous pastimes.
However, for Shepard, seeing people laughing and enjoying themselves reminded her why she was fighting. She wanted to give everyone a chance at this kind of peace, a chance to live free from the threat of the Reapers.

While she’s on (forced) medical leave, a certain turian crash lands in Shepard’s backyard. Instead of leaving him to bleed to death like any sane person would do, she takes him into her home and nurses him back to health.
(Because, as Vega would put it, she’s a goddamn girl scout with the self-preservation instinct of a moth near a flamethrower.)
