Summary
A new lead. Another threat. Chris couldn't ignore the promise of answers that presented itself before him. He had previously assured Claire that he would stop this mindless hunt until they were better prepared, and to some extent, they were. The BSAA was getting its feet on the ground with the first localized branch already placing boots at the threshold of ensuing threats. They had Umbrella on the run with every new facility they investigated and took apart, piece by terrible piece, until there was nothing left to fuel their efforts. For a time, it had felt like they were winning, but Chris knew better. He knew to be wary of easy victories and this was feeling too much like an easy end finally in sight.
He didn't trust it.

Presumably, the creature was acting in self-defense. It shows aggression toward an armed individual, but after the first encounter, it avoids direct contact with a heavily armed group.” She glanced at Chris and added in a slightly lower voice. “The subject is exhibiting a specific interest in one of the squad members. The nature of this interest has yet to be determined.”

I was right in that one comment in response to someone, most of my unposted stuff is about Atreus and Sindri. I'm sorry! I thought I had more Father and Son fluff but I didn't :[ well, extra motivation to write Pirate Mom & Bird Son. Mostly this is just a oneshot I never got around to finishing of what if the Odin reveal goes a little to the left. Including but not limited to; found family, minor gore, scape goat, my lack of fucks to give at some point or another.

When Chris’ sister drags him to some crappy dive bar downtown, he hadn’t expected it to change his life, but he would have done anything for his little sister. He listened to Queen, to KISS, to Bowie and Sabbath and Iron Maden. He liked to blast it through the engine bay on Sunday’s when himself and the rest of FDRC’s S.T.A.R.S. Team were washing the rigs. He didnt listen to the pop-nonsense that was popular with every teenage girl for the last 5 years. But, if Claire wanted him to go with her to see some little synth-pop band, he’d humor her, because that was what he did. He’d suck it up, even if it was bad, because it was important to Claire.
He was wrong in the best way possible.
