"Neuvillette, please call me Neuvillette." Lilac-coloured eyes seemed to soften and a blush appeared on Wriothesley's face. It was a first for this administrator who had his heart toughened up since his first admission to the Fortress of Meropide, falling in love was not a consideration in life. He has friends and there's Sigewinne too, who had looked out for him ever since but love...it's something he thought he could live without until now.
"Then, nice to meet you, my name's Wriothesley, Monsieur Neuvillette." Wriothesley offered his hand.
Neuvillette stared at Wriothesley's hand curiously for a few seconds before taking his hand for a handshake, "A pleasure to meet you too, Monsieur Wriothesley."
"No need the Monsieur, please. You're making me sound like a stuffy old man." Wriothesley said jokingly.
Neuvillette laughed and conceded to the other man's wishes, "Very well, then please do the same for me as well. Just Neuvillette, Wriothesley."
Wriothesley is assigned to bodyguard duty to the new Iudex.

When the Kingdom of Fontaine starts falling on hard times, to save his life's work the Duke of Meropide agrees on a risky deal: to marry the Chief Justice Neuvillette - Princess Furina's faithful advisor - and grant him a noble title, which will allow the abdicating Princess to pass on the throne in peace. Even so, having been let down in the past, the Duke is not exactly keen on the idea of starting a family with someone he doesn’t fully trust, while his silent fiancé seems to be treating it merely as another bullet point on his agenda. Communication isn’t the only thing the pair must worry about, however; the kingdom is recovering from a natural disaster, citizens grow dissatisfied with the prospect of being ruled by a convicted murderer and a dragonblood, and a violent intrigue comes to light. Against all odds, these difficult circumstances only bring the two closer, although it might take Wriothesley some time to come to terms with it.

Neuvi tries to find his voice in the middle of the rumbling feeling he feels for the first time. It’s exhilarating to be near Wrio, let alone to be touched by Wrio. “What makes you think like that?”
Wrio stops touching Neuvi’s hair and kneels in front of Neuvi. His hand moves to touch Neuvi’s hand. At first, it is his fingers, and then his fingers trace his palms. “I’ve been watching, Neuvi. I’ve been watching how you will take a sharp breath when I’m accidentally too close to you. I’ve been watching how you will steal glances when I’m not looking around. And I certainly have been watching how the sky got darker when I mentioned satisfaction earlier.”
There’s no resistance from Neuvi when Wrio traces his hand. And he is definitely not refusing when Wrio is lacing their fingers together in a tight knot. “And for your information, I’ve been thinking about you.”
