“You’re broken, like me. I like that.”
He’s shaken, because he is broken, even if nobody else understands it. People assume he’s gotten over what happened. It’s been almost two years, now, they say. As if he could ever recover from that. They see him functioning and making plans for the future and fail to see the cracks ever-present just underneath the surface, the hollowness deep in his eyes. But now someone finally sees all of that. It’s a relief.

Summary
It’s easy to see Alex as a loud mouthed know-it-all. It takes time and attention to understand Alex for what he actually is: an overworked MacArthur-Grant-in-the-making who’s not used to anyone listening unless he raises his voice — a product of skipping too many grades, living with simultaneously overbearing and distant foster parents, and Alex’s own impossible standards for himself.
Most people don’t take the time to find out that Alex isn't only devoted to his work. That Alex is the kind of friend who would spend five hours helping John sort through the hundreds of pages of government documents from a FOIA request. That Alex is the kind of boyfriend who would visit practically every comic book store in Boston to find that one issue of TMNT that John casually mentioned was his childhood favorite, so he could give it to John for his birthday.
Alex is one of the best people John knows. He cares so much, about so much — and he’s so easy to care about, given the chance.
Alex suffers exam week stress, and John takes care of him.

Summary
After John Laurens dies during the war he finds himself as a ghost, unable to interact with anyone save for Alexander Hamilton's oldest son. And so he takes the role of Philip's imaginary friend and decides to make the most of his second chance.
_______________________Essentially a story that chronologizes and interprets the events of Philip's life growing up, but this time with John Laurens as his guide. Largely based off of the musical instead of history. It's a way of taking the stories of these two poor boys who deserved better and smacking more idealistic and heartwarming closure onto them. Rated T for swearing and a couple heavy topics.

George Washington's campaign for governor of Virginia is in full swing, helped along greatly by the energy and dedication of his young and eager campaign staff. John is delighted to hear that Angelica has recruited some promising young political talent to help their operation in the last months of the campaign - until he gets a glimpse of who it is she's found.
Now John is dealing with his mortal enemy, his best friend waxing lyrical over his newfound infatuation, a turncoat in their midst, a boss who legitimately seems to be trying to destroy his life, and the Schuyler Sisters' determination to make everything go according to plan. And somehow, he seems to be the only one who remembers that they have an actual campaign to run.
