The camera quickly shifts to Ranboo and Tubbo's car, the energy the complete opposite. Michael is still asleep, and it's quiet except for some soft music playing in the background. Tubbo looks over at Ranboo and smiles. Ranboo turns and returns the smile before they both turn back to look at the road. The POV switches back to the screaming van, Phil rubbing his head as his family continues to argue. He shifts in his seat again as if repreparing himself for the drive.]

"Well, I mean, we're... We're not exactly friends."
Tubbo's hand - the bad one, the one that's mostly scar tissue - twitches, and Ranboo can sense that he's said something wrong. "Are we not?"

Ranboo peeked his eyes open again, squinting up at the person sitting at the edge of the large bed. Their hand didn’t move from his head, but the movement had stilled.
It's one of the bad days, where his memory is muddled in a thick fuzz and he can't seem to form words. But Tubbo is there, and he's patient, even if he gets frustrated in himself.

Water hurt so bad.
Ranboo’s throat was losing air, being filled with that acidic water. He couldn’t have long left. He sorely coughed up crimson into the water, dissolving into pretty fire-like patterns that fogged up the water. He choked as his lungs filled a little more with water, burning him.
But nothing, not anything in the world, could hurt more than what his eyes showed to him.
His beloved Tubbo.
On his knees, sobbing, screaming, pounding his fists onto the glass, begging for Ranboo.

this has happened before, and i’m not surprised it’s happened again.
sometimes, tubbo wished he could cry. sometimes he wanted to be able to convey an actual emotion, not just the fake smiles he’d put so tommy wouldn't get worried.
at times, tubbo thinks being able to feel things is a curse. at other times, he wishes to feel things more than anything in the world.
(tubbo is outside collecting wood. he is very tired, and he knows why. but tubbo doesn’t know how to show his feelings, and no one will notice until it’s too late. his blood glows gold.)

“Ah, my scaffolding.” He heard Tommy mutter, he kicked the pile of rubble. This followed by a quiet laugh from Tubbo, “Hah, now you can’t get up to the roof.”
Phil should’ve been angry, Ranboo had caused a mess and a disruption. They had all let Ranboo stay with them and Ranboo would only constantly cause trouble. He was rarely able to help out and constantly ran into things and knocked them over. Ranboo didn’t understand why Phil let him stay here still.
