It’s the complete opposite of what they are doing right now, though. This has nothing to do with lust, or desire, or the feeling of wanting more. This is letting someone in, and even though Theo hates letting people in, he lets Boris do it this time. Because pulling up walls is something so exhausting, so extremely tiring, that he simply can’t do it anymore. Not again. Not tonight.
Or, in which Theo has another panic attack and Boris is there to calm him down.

Or, at least, that’s what everyone told him. Why? He didn’t know the exact reason, but he suspected it had something to do with the fact that he wasn’t like the others. He was… different. You know when you have to do a school project in a small group and there’s always that one kid who never says anything, but does all the work? Yeah, that was Will. A sweet, quiet boy who had always been kind of an outsider.

Robin didn’t seem to get it. “Sure it is! Mike’s straight, and Will’s crush on him is what helped him to come to terms with his feelings. It’s a completely comparable situation.”
Steve grabbed his keys from the dish next to the front door and started shoving on his shoes without a second thought.
“Where are you going?” Robin asked, gesturing back to The Price is Right on the TV. “This isn’t even a re-run!”
“There are more important things than the big showcase right now, Robin. You’ve led little Byers completely astray here, and I’ve gotta go fix it.”
OR
Steve finds out that Mike is Will's Tammy and has no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

“I didn’t mean to!” Mike shouted back, his voice booming across the apartment. The words landed like a slap. Will’s heart dropped, and he didn’t know to pick it back up.“Look, I—” Mike ran a hand through his hair, pacing.
“Get out.” Will was already moving toward the door, hand on the knob. He needed Mike gone before he said something irreversible—before the words spilled out sharp and unforgiving.

After defeating Vecna, the party agreed to host a get-together every other month, rotating between them. It worked—until the first letter arrived at Will’s dorm, love, Mike scribbled along the edge. And then Mike couldn’t stay away. Literally.
So Will told himself he was over Mike. Over reading into every word, every pause, every letter. With every gathering and every exchanged letter, and every confusing touch . the tension tightened, coiling toward something inevitable.

“Just saying, if you’re taking another hit, you should share it with me,” Mike says, and Will slowly tilts his head, drinking in every word. “It just makes sense. Like, mathematically.”
Will’s reddened eyes narrow, bewildered. “Mathematically?”
“If there’s two hits left, we’d each only get one,” Mike explains. “But if we shotgunned, we’d both get two.” God, this is the best idea he’s had in ages. He should’ve stolen Will’s weed, like, months ago. “That’s like, bang for your buck. This is simple math, Will Byers. Keep up.”
In which it’s well past midnight in New York, Will can’t sleep, and Mike feels like they barely know each other anymore.
So, they get a little high. Mike is very normal about all of it.
