Summary
Patrick doesn't consider himself a jealous person. Several people who have known Patrick Zweig since childhood would disagree, vehemently. Perhaps he should correct himself. Patrick Zweig has never been a jealous sort of person with regards to most people's desires: wealth, freedom, relationships. There are things that get underneath his skin; an excellent game of tennis ranks at the top, usually.
what if tashi's injury had never ended her career? a canon divergent au where the injury does not stop tashi from achieving her dreams, one where she and patrick get married — but art is never far from their mind, or their marriage.

Summary
Yeah, Patrick is definitely touching himself. Art watches as his own hand, his free hand, comes down to his shorts. He pushes them down to about mid-thigh. His cock is a little hard. There is still time, Art thinks. There is still time to turn back. All he has to do is tell Patrick he’s buried knee-deep in biology homework, that he has to wake up early for tennis practice, that he needs to go take a leak. He could tell Patrick anything at all to put an end to this phone call.

Summary
He lets her pace around, stewing in her own anger and disappointment before he approaches. Art knows she’ll resist; he is expecting her to. Even so, Art wraps his arms around Tashi. He doesn't hold her like he wants to; doesn't crush her to his chest as if holding her tight enough would put together all her broken dreams. No. His hold is loose enough for her to break away if she really doesn’t want to be comforted.
—Art tries to help Tashi as best he can in the aftermath of her accident.

Summary
And Lucy Gray realizes – she’s not just a songbird in a cage.
She’s a songbird that allowed herself to get caught.
In the end, it comes down to this:
A boy and a girl sitting in the dark, their love hanging like a shadow between them.
“Come with me,” the boy pleads, as if this were a fairy-tale, a happy story, a lullaby. “Come with me.”
Or: Lucy Gray returns to the Capitol with Snow.

Summary
He opens his eyes in the dim light. The sun hasn’t risen yet, but Sejanus is kneeling at his bedside, his wide brown eyes urgent and imploring. A muddied mix of affection and annoyance washes over him. Can’t Sejanus let him sleep for a few more minutes? Doesn’t he know Coriolanus hasn’t been sleeping well?
“Coryo, you have to go now. Lucy Gray is waiting for you.”
It all comes rushing back to him. The jabberjay. The confession. The guns. The murders. Lucy Gray, their plan to run away. The hanging tree — the hanging — Sejanus.
Sejanus.
Coriolanus killed his best friend. Sejanus haunts him until the day he dies.

Summary
Watching Patrick serve, the ferocity in it, how alive he still felt across from him—no, Patrick isn’t dead to him, and Art isn’t dead inside at all. Miraculously, Patrick has managed to harness that spirit still flickering deep within, the one that’s been wilting, that dying spark.
Afterward, in the hotel room, there’s a shift.

Summary
“You can stay in our guesthouse,” Tashi says finally.
Patrick stares. “Your guesthouse?”
“Yes. Temporarily, yes.”
“Why do you have a guesthouse?”
“Because my parents use it when they visit, and because we’re rich as fuck, Patrick.”
“But — ” He doesn’t want to ask. But he’s kind of a glutton for punishment, and besides, he needs to know. “Is Art going to be okay with that?”
For a long moment, Tashi’s narrowed gaze flickers across Patrick’s face. Then she lets out a disbelieving snort and shakes her head. “I’ll send you the address.”
And before Patrick can protest, she turns and walks away from him.

“Fuck you, dude,” Patrick says, though there’s no real heat behind it. “Sit on it and spin.”
Art stares longingly at his tanned back. You don’t have to ask me twice, he thinks.
