It probably wasn't sensible.
The difference between idol mode and variety mode was very real, but Kai figured it was all the same in essence; cameras meant work, and they were all performers.
But it was present like a little voice in the back of his head sometimes, that urge to push, to do something. To admit to something, bald-faced, that would otherwise be classed as the deepest of his secrets, safe in the knowledge that it would be taken as a joke.
“I adore Beomgyu,” he declared.

Kai knows he's good-looking.
This should probably be considered an undisputed fact. He's an extremely successful idol, people spend ungodly amounts of money for tiny cards with his face on them, it only takes one search on any social media website to find thousands of people singing his praises.
But for some reason, no amount of compliments or reassurance from strangers and loved ones alike can force the voice in his head to agree.
OR
Kai is struggling with his self esteem lately, but Beomgyu won't rest until Kai can see what he sees.

“I’ll do it.”
Kai’s voice startles them all a bit. He’s been uncharacteristically quiet, hasn’t spoken in a little while, to be honest, long enough that Beomgyu almost forgot he was there.
“You what?”
“I’ll play the game with you, I don’t care, really.”
There’s another collective groan; of fucking course he will, someone says. But Beomgyu’s too busy staring at Kai. He looks so unbothered, like he just asked Beomgyu to hang out or play a video game together, nothing out of the ordinary.
Beomgyu just isn't satisfied with the pepero game results and wants a rematch. Thankfully, Kai's here and always ready to help.

It stood to reason that there was only one Henry of Skalitz in the world, too.
No more painful feeling exists than realizing you're in love with a dead man. (Even if you still don't know this particular agony is called love.)
Or: while Hans Capon languishes at Maleshov Fortress, he denies the truth--that Henry was captured, tortured, and killed by Istvan Toth--to himself for as long as he can, until it becomes inescapable.
