Summary

With their dad hunting the thing that killed their mom, he and Sam fought the good fight. And that had been the status quo until he’s suddenly faced with an angel that swears he’s there to protect him but acts more like he’d prefer to eviscerate him on the spot.
When things go from bad to worse and its his brother’s blood that’s got demons popping out of the woodwork, Dean doesn’t know what to do – who to turn to. But if there’s one thing ingrained into him its this: protect Sammy, at all cost. So, when he finds himself relying on an angel that may or may not want to stab him, he figures he’ll do whatever he has to. And if by some miracle he managed to convince Heaven’s most grumpy angel that humanity was worth something, well…that was a bonus, right?

Well. Dean did ask for this.
He stares into Cas’s eyes for about nine seconds- yep, apparently Cas was, in fact, being 100% serious- and then he promptly spins on his heel and walks right out of the room. Maybe if he moves quick enough, he can forget he ever said the words ‘buy a house’ in the same sentence as ‘with me Cas.’
Dean’s just turning around after viciously pulling the front door shut a lot harder than he needs to because a) screw the people that own this home for having a junky-ass microwave and for painting their ceiling in a way that make it seem like the room is different colours and b) fuck Cas for being right about both of those things, it would have driven Dean up the wall. He’s thinking about all the ways he’s going to try and forget this experience, when Cas teleports beside him and Dean jumps, screaming bloody murder.
