Anthony scraped the stool across the floor and stood up.

Before Coy could finish his explanation, he realized Anthony was standing right in front of him, his palm resting against his forehead as he gently pushed his hair back.
This close, Coy could smell his cologne more clearly, mixed with the faint scent of his shampoo.
“You’re burning up, Coy.”

Anthony doesn't know that Coy has feelings for him. And Coy really wants to keep it that way.
Because Anthony is straight, and Coy knows he shouldn't want him. He knows his feelings are wrong, shameful, and something he should be able to control.
But Anthony makes it very difficult to keep those feelings under control. And it's making his life hell.

But when a risky love message from an anonymous number is sent to his phone, him and his best friend Hanbon must play the usual game of deduction to narrow down the potential senders. Will Coy ever find the lovestruck individual, or is he condemned to a semester of guessing?
-Coy and Hanbon lounged across the dorm room bed, half-heartedly scrolling through the school's upcoming events. Neither of them were really paying attention.
Then Coy's phone buzzed.
A notification slid across the top of the screen from an unfamiliar sender.
He tapped it open.
> [I really, really like you, Coy. You'll never know who this is—I'm sending this anonymously. But I can't get you out of my head.]
Silence settled over the room.
Coy slowly lowered his phone. Hanbon looked at him. Coy looked back, both wearing the same stunned expression.
After a long pause, Hanbon broke the silence with a sly grin.
"So..."
She nudged Coy's shoulder.
"...let's find out who sent it."

“yeah she's in the bathroom, she'll be here in a sec”
“Cool.”
Theres an awkward silence and Coys brain searches for anything to bring up to start a conversation. He can still hear Anthony's gentle breathing over the line.
“Shouldn’t you be at practice right now?” Is what he comes up with.
Anthony doesn't respond for a beat and Coy squeezes his eyes shut. Why did he say that? Anthony probably thinks hes a total wierdo for memorizing his practice schedule.
“Got canceled. Coach had a thing.” Coy can hear cabinets opening and closing on from the other end.
“Oh uhm- sorry.” He’s not sure what to say
“Yeah, I'll probably just shoot some hoops in the front yard so it's no big deal.” He hears a fridge door open.
“Y-yeah I bet!” He says it too fast with forced laughter. He immediately squeezes his eyes shut. But he hears Anthony let out a short amused giggle.
